Kansas City at Detroit 1:05 PM ET
The Detroit Tigers have struggled inside their own division for most of their season, but a well-timed winning streak against the American League Central has put them in a place where they control their own destiny in the wild-card race. The Tigers eye their sixth straight victory overall Saturday when they continue a three-game set at home against the fading Kansas City Royals.
St. Louis at Chi. Cubs 1:05 PM ET

The road to the World Series hasn’t often passed through Wrigley Field, but the Chicago Cubs will make Wrigleyville ground zero for the National League playoffs after clinching home field Friday. The Cubs look to ride that momentum and move within one of 100 victories when they host the St. Louis Cardinals for the middle contest of a three-game series on Saturday.

Texas at Oakland 4:05 PM ET
With the American League West title now under their belt, the Texas Rangers turn their focus toward clinching home-field advantage throughout the postseason as they continue their three-game set against the host Oakland Athletics on Saturday afternoon. Texas secured its second straight division crown and seventh overall by posting a 3-0 victory in the series opener behind a three-run rally in the seventh frame and a stellar seven-inning outing by Cole Hamels.
NY Yankees at Toronto 4:07 PM ET
The Toronto Blue Jays fell out of first place in the American League East by losing six of its first seven games in September, including a three-game sweep at Yankee Stadium. The Blue Jays remain in control in the wild-card race and can snuff out the playoff hopes of the visiting New York Yankees when they continue their four-game series Saturday afternoon.
Boston at Tampa Bay 6:10 PM ET
David Ortiz continues to reach milestones while creating memories during his impressive final tour around the major leagues with the Boston Red Sox. The veteran slugger’s long two-run blast was the difference in the series opener and he looks to follow that up and pass a legend as the first-place Red Sox visit the Tampa Bay Rays on Saturday in the middle contest of a three-game set.
Arizona at Baltimore 7:05 PM ET
The high-octane Baltimore Orioles appeared to be running out of gas with losses in four straight while the 12 runs they scored in a 1-5 stretch left plenty for which to be desired. The Orioles found their second wind to take the opener and look to ride that momentum into an interleague series victory versus the visiting Arizona Diamondbacks on Saturday.
Washington at Pittsburgh 7:05 PM ET
The champagne remains on ice as the Washington Nationals' magic number is stuck on two to clinch their third National League East title in five years. Washington looks to rebound from an 11-inning loss in the opener and fifth setback in six games overall on Saturday when they continue their three-game series versus the host Pittsburgh Pirates.
Chi. White Sox at Cleveland 7:10 PM ET
While their pitching staff has been ravaged by injuries, the offense is looking pretty healthy for the Cleveland Indians, who look to extend their winning streak to five games when they host the Chicago White Sox on Saturday. The Indians pounded Chicago 10-4 on Friday to reduce their magic number for clinching the American League Central title to three.
LA Angels at Houston 7:10 PM ET
The Houston Astros look to rebound from a devastating loss that severely hurt their postseason chances when they host the Los Angeles Angels on Saturday in the third contest of their four-game series. The Astros were three outs away from a crucial victory on Friday before collapsing, as they allowed six runs in the ninth inning to suffer a 10-6 defeat that leaves them 2 1/2 games behind Detroit for the American League's second wild card.
Seattle at Minnesota 7:10 PM ET
The Seattle Mariners needed to make sure this weekend's series didn't go like their previous matchup against the Minnesota Twins if they had any hopes of remaining a threat in the American League wild-card chase. The Mariners took the first step in that regard with a convincing win over the host Twins in Friday's opener and will try to repeat the feat Saturday, when the teams continue their three-game series.
Atlanta at Miami 7:10 PM ET
Adonis Garcia did not factor heavily into the Atlanta Braves’ rebuilding efforts, but as the Braves play the third game of a four-game series Saturday at the Miami Marlins, their third baseman continues to bolster his opportunity to return in 2017. Garcia collected three hits Friday night and drove in the go-ahead run in the ninth inning in the Braves’ 3-2 victory, Atlanta’s season-best seventh victory in a row and 15th in its past 23 games.
Cincinnati at Milwaukee 7:10 PM ET
Dan Straily quietly has put together a stellar second half of the season and goes for his 14th victory when the Milwaukee Brewers continue their three-game series against the visiting Cincinnati Reds on Saturday. The Brewers improved to 13-8 this month and assured themselves of finishing no worse than .500 at home with Friday's 5-4 victory.
Philadelphia at NY Mets 7:10 PM ET
The New York Mets haven't been shy about flexing their muscle in the face of the Philadelphia Phillies. With four homers in the first two contests of the four-game series and 29 in 14 meetings this season, New York looks to continue the power display on Saturday against the visiting National League East rival.
San Francisco at San Diego 8:40 PM ET
Madison Bumgarner has dropped his last two starts against lowly San Diego and aims to turn around that trend when the San Francisco Giants visit the Padres on Saturday. The left-hander gave up three runs and seven hits in 6 2/3 innings in a loss to San Diego on Sept. 14 after previously giving up four runs and seven hits in six innings while falling July 15.
Colorado at LA Dodgers 9:10 PM ET
Clayton Kershaw looks to win for the first time since he returned from a back injury when the Los Angeles Dodgers host the Colorado Rockies on Saturday. The left-hander didn't allow an earned run in either of his last two outings and has 17 strikeouts against just one walk in three starts since missing nearly 2 1/2 months.
