September 21, 2016
St. Louis at Colorado 3:10 PM ET
The St. Louis Cardinals are surging at the right time, and they look to complete a three-game sweep when they visit the Colorado Rockies on Wednesday afternoon for the finale of their series. St. Louis extended its winning streak to four games with Tuesday's 10-5 victory and forged a three-way tie with the New York Mets and San Francisco Giants for the two wild-card spots in the National League.
Houston at Oakland 3:35 PM ET
The Houston Astros look to continue their climb toward a postseason berth and complete a three-game sweep when they visit the Oakland Athletics on Wednesday afternoon for the finale of their series. Houston has won five of its last six games, including a 2-1 triumph in 10 innings Tuesday, to climb within two games of Baltimore for the second wild-card spot in the American League.
Toronto at Seattle 3:40 PM ET
Felix Hernandez is the undisputed ace of the Seattle Mariners, and the club badly needs him to pitch like one when they conclude their three-game series against the visiting Toronto Blue Jays on Wednesday afternoon. Hernandez has been pounded in three of his last four outings while the Mariners are trying to avoid being swept by the Blue Jays.
Boston at Baltimore 7:05 PM ET
The Boston Red Sox have everything clicking at the right time and have turned a tight race for the American League East title into a runaway. The Red Sox will try to pick up their seventh straight victory and clinch a series win when they visit the Baltimore Orioles for the third of a four-game series on Wednesday.
Chi. White Sox at Philadelphia 7:05 PM ET
The exciting thing for the Philadelphia Phillies over the last few weeks of the regular season is seeing the players they hope will lead the team in the future begin to emerge. The Phillies will try to ride their young bats to a series sweep when they host the Chicago White Sox in the finale of a two-game interleague set on Wednesday.
Kansas City at Cleveland 7:10 PM ET
The Cleveland Indians have lost a pair of key starting pitchers over the last 10 days but have plenty of pitching in reserve, especially at the back of the bullpen. The Indians will try to move one step closer to their first American League Central title since 2007 when they host the Kansas City Royals in the second of a three-game series on Wednesday.
NY Yankees at Tampa Bay 7:10 PM ET
Masahiro Tanaka is seeking to notch a career high in victories as he takes for mound for the visiting New York Yankees on Wednesday night in the second of a three-game series versus the Tampa Bay Rays. Tanaka has been spectacular down the stretch, going 6-0 over his last eight outings and is undefeated in seven starts against Tampa Bay.
Atlanta at NY Mets 7:10 PM ET
While Freddie Freeman is enjoying career-best hitting (24 games) and on-base streaks (40), teammate Adonis Garcia has been relishing a nice little run at the plate as well. With eight hits in his last four contests, Garcia will look to send the Atlanta Braves to their fifth win overall, sixth straight at Citi Field and a three-game sweep of the host New York Mets on Wednesday.
Washington at Miami 7:10 PM ET
The operative number for the Washington Nationals is four, as that total accounts for their losing skid as well as magic number to win the National League East. Washington looks to put an end to its winless streak and inch closer to a third division title in five years on Wednesday when it faces the host Miami Marlins in the finale of a three-game series.
LA Angels at Texas 8:05 PM ET
The Texas Rangers are on the verge of sewing up the American League West crown, and the magic number for clinching stands at two entering Wednesday's contest against the visiting Los Angeles Angels. The Rangers won the first two games of the series, and Tuesday's 5-4 victory gave the club its fifth 90-win season this decade.
Cincinnati at Chi. Cubs 8:05 PM ET

The Chicago Cubs are closing in on their first 100-win season since 1935, and no opponent has accounted for more of those wins than the Cincinnati Reds. The National League Central champion Cubs look to continue their push toward the century mark – and their dominance over the visiting Reds – when the teams conclude a three-game series on Wednesday.

Detroit at Minnesota 8:10 PM ET
The Detroit Tigers have struggled at home against the worst team in the majors, but they have made themselves right at home when visiting the Minnesota Twins. The Tigers, who have won all seven meetings at Target Field in 2016 and nine in a row dating to last season, look to keep the streak intact when the teams continue their three-game series on Wednesday.
Pittsburgh at Milwaukee 8:10 PM ET
With only 12 games remaining in the regular season, the Pittsburgh Pirates are running out of time in their bid to secure a spot in the postseason. Despite winning five of their last six games, the Pirates are sitting 4 1/2 games out of the National League wild card as they continue their three-game series at the Milwaukee Brewers on Wednesday.
Arizona at San Diego 9:10 PM ET
Zack Greinke, who has experienced a disappointing first season with the Arizona Diamondbacks, strives to halt a three-start losing streak when he takes the mound against the host San Diego Padres on Wednesday in the finale of their three-game series. The right-hander's chances of snapping the skid rate fairly high as he is 7-1 with a 1.96 ERA and 0.86 WHIP in 15 career starts against San Diego.
San Francisco at LA Dodgers 10:10 PM ET
The San Francisco Giants’ struggling bullpen has drawn much of the blame for the team’s second-half collapse, but the lackluster offense has been equally concerning. The Giants look to put together a complete effort Wednesday in the rubber match of a three-game series against the host Los Angeles Dodgers, who lead the National League West by five games with 11 to play.
