LA Dodgers at NY Yankees 7:05 PM ET
The New York Yankees have a very small margin for error the rest of the way and cannot afford a series loss at home if they hope to stay in the American League postseason race. The Yankees will try to even the series and gain back a game in the standings when they host the Los Angeles Dodgers in the second of a three-game interleague series on Tuesday.
NY Mets at Washington 7:05 PM ET
Clinging to the second wild card in the National League, the New York Mets send ace Noah Syndergaard to the mound Tuesday night when they continue their three-game series against the host Washington Nationals. The Mets hold a half-game over St. Louis after they were blown out 8-1 in the series opener, only their second loss in nine games.
Pittsburgh at Philadelphia 7:05 PM ET
The Pittsburgh Pirates' rapid fall in the standings is coinciding with an inability to beat teams with losing records. The Pirates will try to avoid a fifth straight loss to a sub.-500 opponent when they visit the Philadelphia Phillies for the second of a four-game series on Tuesday.
Tampa Bay at Toronto 7:07 PM ET
The Toronto Blue Jays look to build on a huge victory when they host the last-place Tampa Bay Rays on Tuesday in the middle contest of a three-game set. Jose Bautista belted a two-run homer and Ezequiel Carrera’s solo blast in the eighth inning snapped a tie in Monday’s 3-2 triumph for the Blue Jays, who came in reeling with seven losses in nine games.
Baltimore at Boston 7:10 PM ET
The depth of the Boston Red Sox lineup has been on display all season, and the team is counting on those hitters to carry them to an American League East title. The Red Sox will try to clinch another series win and increase their advantage in the division when they host the Baltimore Orioles on Tuesday in the second of a three-game series.
Minnesota at Detroit 7:10 PM ET
The Detroit Tigers were sliding with four losses in five games, but once again the Minnesota Twins proved to be an obliging opponent for their American League Central rival. Detroit improved to 11-2 against Minnesota with a come-from-behind victory Monday and go for its fifth straight win over the visiting Twins on Tuesday in the second of a four-game series.
Miami at Atlanta 7:10 PM ET
The Miami Marlins and Atlanta Braves may languish in the bottom third in the majors in a number of offensive categories, but the National League East rivals ignited a powder keg in the series opener. After combining for 19 runs and 34 hits in an offensive slugfest, the Marlins and Braves will see if they have anything left in the tank on Tuesday, when the clubs continue their three-game set at Turner Field.
Milwaukee at Cincinnati 7:10 PM ET
Brandon Phillips has pieced together the early makings of a September to remember, while the Milwaukee Brewers are trying to forget what the veteran second baseman has done at their expense this season. Phillips looks to continue his torrid play on Tuesday as the Cincinnati Reds vie for a series victory versus their visiting National League Central rivals.
Oakland at Kansas City 7:15 PM ET
Rather than put their best foot forward, the Kansas City Royals received quite the kick in the pants as they began an eight-game homestand with a thud against the Oakland Athletics. The reigning World Series champions look to dust themselves off from a 16-3 shellacking in the opener and keep alive their faint postseason hopes on Tuesday, when they play the Athletics in the second contest of a four-game series.
Cleveland at Chi. White Sox 8:10 PM ET
The Cleveland Indians are holding a comfortable six-game lead atop the American League Central with 19 to play, but the road to the title got a bit more difficult Monday. All-Star right-hander Danny Salazar could be done for the year for Cleveland, which continues its four-game series at the Chicago White Sox on Tuesday.
Texas at Houston 8:10 PM ET
The Texas Rangers have dominated the Houston Astros this season and look to defeat their division rivals again on Tuesday, when they visit them for the middle contest of their three-game set. Rougned Odor belted the decisive homer in the 12th inning as the Rangers posted a 4-3 victory in the series opener to improve to 14-3 against the Astros this season.
Chi. Cubs at St. Louis 8:15 PM ET

The Chicago Cubs are on the cusp of their first division title since 2008, and they would like nothing more than clinching on their arch-rivals’ home field. The Cubs will try to move one step closer to doing so when they face the St. Louis Cardinals for the second of a three-game series Tuesday.

Colorado at Arizona 9:40 PM ET
With the Colorado Rockies falling further out of wild-card contention, the real race worth watching is DJ LeMahieu's bid to win the National League batting crown. The second baseman went 2-for-4 and scored three runs in Monday's 12-9 series-opening loss and seeks his fourth consecutive multi-hit performance when Colorado visits the Arizona Diamondbacks on Tuesday.
Seattle at LA Angels 10:05 PM ET
Mike Trout enjoys seeing Seattle's Taijuan Walker on the mound and looks to continue his batting prowess when the Los Angeles Angels host the Mariners on Tuesday in the middle contest of a three-game set. Trout is 9-for-11 with three homers against Walker, including smacking first-inning homers in each of this season's two matchups.
San Diego at San Francisco 10:15 PM ET
Returning home to face one of the doormats of the division was supposed to help the San Francisco Giants' chances of overtaking the Los Angeles Dodgers for first place in the National League West. Things did not start out as planned for the Giants, who hope to even the series against the visiting San Diego Padres when they play the middle contest of the three-game set Tuesday.
