Houston at Cleveland 12:10 PM ET
The Cleveland Indians look to finish a strong 10-game homestand with eight victories when they host the Houston Astros on Thursday afternoon. The Indians recovered from two straight losses to edge the Astros 6-5 on Wednesday and will send Trevor Bauer to the mound for the series finale in search of his fifth win in five career starts against Houston.
Tampa Bay at NY Yankees 7:05 PM ET
The New York Yankees are making a spirited push toward a postseason spot in the American League and may be playing their way back into contention for the AL East. The Yankees will try to extend their winning streak to five and move a season-high nine games over .500 when they host the last-pace Tampa Bay Rays in the opener of a four-game series on Thursday.
Cincinnati at Pittsburgh 7:05 PM ET
The Pittsburgh Pirates' recent eight-game losing streak severely hurt their chances to stay afloat in the National League wild-card race, but the club might have one last gasp. The Pirates begin a long stretch of games against some of the NL's worst teams on Thursday when they open a four-game series against the visiting Cincinnati Reds.
Philadelphia at Washington 7:05 PM ET
The Washington Nationals are far enough ahead in the National League East that their biggest concern over the final 23 games is making sure all of the key players on the roster stay healthy down the stretch. The Nationals got some discouraging news in that regard on Wednesday and will try to move ahead with questions about ace Stephen Strasburg when they host the Philadelphia Phillies in the opener of a four-game series on Thursday.
Milwaukee at St. Louis 7:15 PM ET
The St. Louis Cardinals have fallen into a tie for the National League's second wild card but attempt to regain sole possession of the spot when they open a four-game series against the host Milwaukee Brewers on Thursday. The Cardinals had their three-game winning streak halted when they dropped a 4-3 decision to Pittsburgh on Wednesday and slipped into a tie with the surging New York Mets, who have won five consecutive games.
Texas at Seattle 10:10 PM ET
The Seattle Mariners have scored 29 runs in the series against Texas but the visiting Rangers will be aiming to gain a split of the four-game set when the series concludes Thursday. Seattle first baseman Adam Lind fueled Wednesday's 8-3 victory with two homers and five RBIs but the win was only the Mariners' fourth in the past 15 games.
Colorado at San Diego 10:10 PM ET
The Colorado Rockies begin a seven-game road trip Thursday as they host the National League West-rival San Diego Padres for the opener of their four-game series. Colorado appeared on its way to a fourth loss in five contests Wednesday but rallied for three runs in the bottom of the ninth inning to pull out a 6-5 victory over San Francisco.
