Baltimore at NY Yankees 1:05 PM ET
The New York Yankees have their sights set on an American League East title and a lot will be determined by how they perform at home the rest of the way. New York plays 15 of the final 27 regular-season contests at Yankee Stadium and continues its 10-game homestand Monday when the struggling Baltimore Orioles visit for the first of three.
NY Mets at Washington 1:05 PM ET
The National League East race has heated up in a big way over the past week and it will now take center stage when the first-place New York Mets visit the suddenly streaking Washington Nationals for the first of three games on Monday. Washington, which trailed New York by 6 1/2 games as recently as Wednesday, has won five in a row to get within four of the Mets.
Tampa Bay at Detroit 1:08 PM ET
If the Tampa Bay Rays have any hope of getting back into the race for the second American League wild card, then they need to take advantage of the teams lower in the standings. The Rays will attempt to do just that when they visit the Detroit Tigers for the opener of a three-game series on Monday.
Pittsburgh at Cincinnati 1:10 PM ET
The Pittsburgh Pirates continue their road trip through the National League Central when they begin a three-game series against the Cincinnati Reds on Monday afternoon. Pittsburgh began its trek by being swept in a three-game set at Milwaukee before taking two of three from the division-leading Cardinals in St. Louis.
Milwaukee at Miami 1:10 PM ET
Two teams looking to continue gaining confidence for next season meet when the Milwaukee Brewers visit the Miami Marlins on Monday to begin a three-game set. The Brewers have won six of their last seven contests and are 35-30 since June 23 while Miami beat the National League East-leading New York Mets on Sunday for its fifth victory in six games.
Toronto at Boston 1:35 PM ET
The Toronto Blue Jays are bashing their way to the American League East title and are set to open a key 10-game road trip. The Blue Jays have a trip to the second-place New York Yankees on the horizon over the weekend but would be wise to not overlook the surging Boston Red Sox, who host Toronto in the opener of a three-game series on Monday.
Cleveland at Chi. White Sox 2:10 PM ET
There may not be enough time for either the Cleveland Indians or the Chicago White Sox to seriously contend for a playoff spot, but both are doing well to stay in the conversation. The surging American League Central rivals meet Monday afternoon in the first of three games at Chicago.
Chi. Cubs at St. Louis 2:15 PM ET
The St. Louis Cardinals attempt to turn their mediocre homestand into a successful one when they begin a three-game set against the National League Central-rival Chicago Cubs on Monday afternoon. St. Louis won the first two contests on the nine-game stretch at Busch Stadium before dropping three of the last four, including two of three to Pittsburgh.
Houston at Oakland 4:05 PM ET
The Houston Astros continue to maintain a tenuous lead in the American League West while giving their pitchers extra rest as they begin a crucial 10-game road trip Monday against the Oakland Athletics in the opener of a three-game series. Houston leads the division by three games over Texas and gives the ball to Mike Fiers, who has pitched once since no-hitting the Los Angeles Dodgers on Aug. 21 as the Astros utilized a six-man rotation and benefited from a pair of days off.
San Francisco at Arizona 4:10 PM ET
Patrick Corbin continues to progress in his return from Tommy John surgery, and it appears the Arizona Diamondbacks will have their ace left-hander in peak form and back at the top of the rotation in 2016. Corbin is 3-0 in his last seven starts and takes his next step toward full strength Monday when Arizona hosts the San Francisco Giants in the opener of a three-game series.
Colorado at San Diego 4:10 PM ET
Nolan Arenado's six-game streak of contests with a home run has concluded, but the Colorado third baseman looks to continue his strong season when the Rockies open a four-game set on Monday against the host San Diego Padres. Arenado is tied for the National League lead in homers (36) with teammate Carlos Gonzalez and has collected a league-best 105 RBIs.
Texas at Seattle 6:40 PM ET
The Texas Rangers continue their pursuit of an American League playoff berth when they open a four-game series against the host Seattle Mariners on Monday. Texas holds a 1 1/2-game lead over Minnesota for the second wild-card spot and trails first-place Houston by three games in the AL West.
Atlanta at Philadelphia 7:05 PM ET
The battle to avoid the basement in the National League East takes a head-to-head turn when the Philadelphia Phillies host the Atlanta Braves in the opener of a three-game series on Monday. The Braves are losers of 12 straight but still sit one game ahead of the Phillies in the East.
Minnesota at Kansas City 8:10 PM ET
The Minnesota Twins have lost three of their last four games as they try to chase down an American League wild-card spot. The Twins are 1 1/2 games behind the Texas Rangers for the second spot entering Monday's contest against the Royals in Kansas City, which was just swept at home for the first time this season.
LA Dodgers at LA Angels 9:05 PM ET
No team was happier to turn the calendar last week than the Los Angeles Angels, who were 10-19 in August but have won four of their first five games this month. The Angels are 2 1/2 games behind Texas for the second American League wild-card spot heading into Monday’s series opener against the visiting Los Angeles Dodgers, who have won 11 of their last 13 and lead the National League West by 7 1/2 games over San Francisco.
