Detroit at Toronto 1:07 PM ET
The Toronto Blue Jays are seemingly lapping the field when it comes to offensive production, with just about every part of their star-studded lineup contributing to the cause. Edwin Encarnacion has been doing his fair share of the heavy lifting for a while and looks to follow up a career day at the plate on Sunday when his surging Blue Jays attempt to finish off a three-game home sweep of the Detroit Tigers.
Boston at NY Mets 1:10 PM ET
The New York Mets enjoyed a record-setting offensive road trip but seem to have forgotten to bring their offense back home. The Mets will try to string some hits together and avoid a three-game sweep when they host the Boston Red Sox in the finale of an interleague series on Sunday.
LA Angels at Cleveland 1:10 PM ET
The Los Angeles Angels’ recent struggles are threatening to drop them out of a loaded race for the second wild card in the American League. The Angels will try to avoid a sweep when they visit the Cleveland Indians for the finale of a three-game series on Sunday.
Kansas City at Tampa Bay 1:10 PM ET
Mike Moustakas is stepping to the front of the line for a red-hot Kansas City Royals offense of late with an eye-popping 14 RBIs in the last seven games. The third baseman looks to keep producing big numbers when the visiting Royals attempt to finish a perfect season series against the struggling Tampa Bay Rays on Sunday afternoon.
NY Yankees at Atlanta 1:35 PM ET
There were plenty of significant deals in baseball last offseason, but the New York Yankees’ acquisition of Nathan Eovaldi in a five-player trade with Miami has provided immense dividends. One season after losing 14 games for the Marlins, Eovaldi aims for his 14th victory Sunday as the Yankees look to cap a three-game road sweep at the struggling Atlanta Braves.
Colorado at Pittsburgh 1:35 PM ET
The Pittsburgh Pirates are winners of 14 of their last 17 games and own the second-best record in baseball, though the only team above them happens to also reside in the National League Central. The Pirates will try to make it five straight victories when they host the lowly Colorado Rockies in the finale of a three-game series Sunday.
Miami at Washington 1:35 PM ET
Dee Gordon has provided a steady brightness in an otherwise dark season of unfulfilled expectations for the Miami Marlins. Gordon has leaped past Bryce Harper and back into the lead for the National League batting title, and the two will share the same field Sunday when the Marlins wrap up a three-game series at Washington, which has more in its sights than individual awards.
San Diego at Philadelphia 1:35 PM ET
The Philadelphia Phillies seek their second sweep of the San Diego Padres in less than a month when the teams finish a three-game series Sunday in the City of Brotherly Love. With a 7-1 win in Friday's opener and a 4-3 triumph in the second game of the set Saturday, the Phillies had taken five straight from the Padres in August and seven straight home games between the teams overall.
Seattle at Chi. White Sox 2:10 PM ET
The Seattle Mariners look to defeat Chicago for the third straight day as they conclude a four-game series against the host White Sox on Sunday. Kyle Seager hit a two-run blast to reach the 20-homer mark for the fourth consecutive season as Seattle posted a 7-6 victory on Saturday.
Houston at Minnesota 2:10 PM ET
The Minnesota Twins attempt to bounce back from an untimely defeat when they close a three-game series against the visiting Houston Astros on Sunday. The Twins suffered a 4-1 loss on Saturday to fall 1 1/2 games behind Texas in the battle for the American League's second wild-card spot.
Cincinnati at Milwaukee 2:10 PM ET
The Cincinnati Reds attempt to put together consecutive wins for the first time in more than two weeks when they visit the Milwaukee Brewers for the rubber match of their three-game series Sunday. Cincinnati halted its four-game losing streak with a 12-9 comeback victory Saturday as Joey Votto ignited a four-run rally in the ninth inning with a two-run homer.
Baltimore at Texas 3:05 PM ET
The Texas Rangers try to bolster their standing in the American League wild-card race while dealing another blow to a rival contender when they try for a three-game sweep over the visiting Baltimore Orioles on Sunday. Texas, which has won six of its last eight contests, increased its lead over Minnesota for the final playoff spot to 1 1/2 games with a 4-3 victory Saturday that dropped Baltimore 4 1/2 behind the Rangers after it lost for the fifth time in the first six contests of its seven-game
St. Louis at San Francisco 4:05 PM ET
If St. Louis Cardinals rookie outfielder Stephen Piscotty seems right at home this weekend at AT&T Park, it’s because he knows the area well. The Bay Area native and former Stanford star has six hits in his last eight at-bats heading into Sunday’s rubber match of a three-game series against the San Francisco Giants, who sit 3 1/2 games back of the National League West-leading Los Angeles Dodgers.
Oakland at Arizona 4:10 PM ET
The Oakland Athletics seek their first road series victory of the second half when they visit the Arizona Diamondbacks for the finale of their three-game set Sunday. Oakland, which took two of three at Cleveland in the final series before the All-Star break, squandered an early two-run lead Saturday before posting a 3-2 win to even the set and improve to 2-10 on the road this month.
Chi. Cubs at LA Dodgers 8:08 PM ET
Jake Arrieta goes after his major league-leading 17th victory of the season when the Chicago Cubs close a three-game series against the host Los Angeles Dodgers on Sunday. Arrieta is tied with San Francisco's Madison Bumgarner for the lead and his 2.22 ERA is second in the National League behind Zack Greinke of the Dodgers.
