The Detroit Tigers haven't enjoyed much success against the visiting Los Angeles Angels over the years, but they are riding a five-game winning streak as the teams resume their three-game set Saturday night at Comerica Park. Noah Syndergaard looks to continue his mastery in the series when his New York Mets host the Philadelphia Phillies on Saturday in the middle contest of a three-game set. Syndergaard is 3-0 with a 1.40 ERA in three lifetime starts against the Phillies as the rejuvenated Mets go after their sixth victory in the last seven contests.

The St. Louis Cardinals look to clinch a series victory on Saturday when they host the middle contest of their three-game interleague set against the Oakland Athletics. St. Louis lost two of three to the New York Mets at home before posting a 3-1 victory in the series opener on Friday.

One day after snapping their losing streak, the Cleveland Indians look to make it two wins in a row when they visit the Texas Rangers on Saturday for the third contest of the four-game series between the division leaders. Cleveland, which owns a 4 1/2-game lead over Detroit in the American League Central, had lost three in a row before erupting for 17 hits in a 12-1 triumph on Friday.
Cincinnati at Arizona 8:10 PM ET
Each of the Arizona Diamondbacks' last four victories have come by one run and they look to continue the pattern of winning close games when they host the Cincinnati Reds on Saturday in the second contest of a three-game set. Arizona blew a ninth-inning lead Friday and fell behind in the 10th before pushing across a tying run in the 10th on a fielder's choice and scoring the winning run in the 11th on a wild pitch to record a 4-3 victory.
Atlanta at San Francisco 9:05 PM ET
The San Francisco Giants hope seeing the Atlanta Braves will bring out the best in Jake Peavy again when the veteran right-hander returns to the starting rotation Saturday in San Francisco. Sent to the bullpen to begin August, Peavy made his best start of the season in a 4-0 victory over the Braves on May 31 in Atlanta, allowing just one hit with no walks in seven innings.
