August 26, 2015
Houston at NY Yankees 1:05 PM ET
The Houston Astros have struggled mightily on the road this season, but Evan Gattis has made himself at home in the first two contests of the three-game series against the New York Yankees. Gattis looks to continue his hot play against New York when Houston attempts to claim the rubber match of the series on Wednesday afternoon.
Oakland at Seattle 3:40 PM ET
The Seattle Mariners once again appear destined to be on the outside looking in come October, although it is impossible to tell where they are at in the standings based on the hot bat of Nelson Cruz. The major-league leader in homers clubbed his 38th to spark a six-run rally Tuesday, putting Seattle in position to secure a rare series victory Wednesday as the Mariners finish off a three-game home set against the Oakland Athletics.
NY Mets at Philadelphia 7:05 PM ET
Yoenis Cespedes has been swinging a red-hot bat and the majority of the New York Mets have followed suit. With five homers during the team's five-game winning streak, Cespedes looks to continue the Mets' dominance of the Philadelphia Phillies when the National League East rivals play the third contest of their four-game series on Wednesday.
San Diego at Washington 7:05 PM ET

The Washington Nationals are playing their best ball in weeks as they try to make up ground in the National League East race. The Nationals have won three straight and five of seven as they try to chase down the New York Mets and look to add to their hot streak when they continue a three-game series with the visiting San Diego Padres on Wednesday.

LA Angels at Detroit 7:08 PM ET
The visiting Los Angeles Angels vie for their ninth straight victory over the Detroit Tigers and 19th in the last 22 meetings when they continue their three-game series at Comerica Park on Wednesday. After mustering just 12 runs during a four-game losing skid, Los Angeles erupted out of the blocks in the series opener and has amassed 34 runs in winning all five meetings this season with Detroit.
Milwaukee at Cleveland 7:10 PM ET
Cleveland right-hander Carlos Carrasco was scratched from Wednesday's start and will be replaced by rookie Cody Anderson when the Indians host the Brewers in the finale of a two-game set. Carrasco underwent an MRI exam on Tuesday due to shoulder soreness and manager Terry Francona said there were signs of bursitis - inflammation in the joints.
Minnesota at Tampa Bay 7:10 PM ET
The Minnesota Twins go after their season-high sixth straight victory when they visit the Tampa Bay Rays on Wednesday for the second of a three-game set. Rookie Miguel Sano boasts five homers and 12 RBIs in his last eight games, including a three-run shot in Tuesday’s 11-7 victory, as Minnesota moved within a half game of Texas for the American League’s second wild card.
Colorado at Atlanta 7:10 PM ET
Shelby Miller is an All-Star whose name is sprinkled throughout the National League pitching leaderboards, but the biggest story surrounding the Atlanta Braves’ right-hander remains out of his control. Miller, who has not won in 17 consecutive starts despite posting a sparkling 3.11 ERA in that span, takes the mound Wednesday seeking his first victory in 100 days as the Braves host the Colorado Rockies.
LA Dodgers at Cincinnati 7:10 PM ET
The Los Angeles Dodgers put an end to a pair of losing streaks and can clinch a series win against the host Cincinnati Reds on Wednesday in the second of a three-game set. The National League West-leading Dodgers halted a five-game skid with a 5-1 victory Tuesday and also halted a string of eight consecutive defeats on the road.
Pittsburgh at Miami 7:10 PM ET
After suffering a rare loss to an out-of-division opponent, the Pittsburgh Pirates look to get back on the winning track Wednesday in the third of a four-game series at the Miami Marlins. Tuesday's 5-2 setback was only the third loss in 13 games overall for the Pirates, who are a combined 41-13 against National League East and West foes.
Toronto at Texas 8:05 PM ET
David Price has been spectacular since joining the Toronto Blue Jays last month but he has rarely fared well in Texas, where he will pitch Wednesday in the continuation of a three-game series with the Rangers. Price is 2-4 with a 5.37 ERA in his career against the Rangers, easily his highest ERA against an American League opponent.
Baltimore at Kansas City 8:10 PM ET
Johnny Cueto attempts to bounce back from his worst start in a Kansas City uniform when the Royals host the Baltimore Orioles in Wednesday's third contest of a four-game set. Cueto was torched for seven runs (six earned) and 13 hits in six innings while losing to the Boston Red Sox on Friday.
Boston at Chi. White Sox 8:10 PM ET

The Chicago White Sox are hanging around in the American League wild-card race, and they like their chances to at least keep pace every time Chris Sale takes the mound. The ace left-hander gets the ball Wednesday as the White Sox face the visiting Boston Red Sox in the rubber match of a three-game series.

St. Louis at Arizona 9:40 PM ET
The St. Louis Cardinals are closing in on another postseason appearance and appear determined to keep the Arizona Diamondbacks from joining them. The Cardinals, who lead the National League Central by 4 1/2 games over second-place Pittsburgh, are 5-0 against the Diamondbacks this season and have won 11 of the last 12 meetings heading into Wednesday’s contest at Chase Field.
Chi. Cubs at San Francisco 10:15 PM ET
The red-hot Chicago Cubs placed more distance between themselves and their closest wild-card pursuer in the series opener with San Francisco and look to defeat the host Giants in Wednesday's second contest of a three-game series. Chicago has won six consecutive games and leads the Giants by 7 1/2 games in the battle for the National League's second wild-card spot.
