Toronto at NY Yankees 1:05 PM ET
J.A. Happ will look to become the first pitcher in the majors to reach 17 wins when he takes the mound for the Toronto Blue Jays in the rubber match of a three-game set at the New York Yankees on Wednesday afternoon. The Blue Jays stunned the Yankees by storming back from a six-run deficit Tuesday with 12 unanswered runs to move one game ahead of Baltimore and Boston atop the American League East.
San Diego at Tampa Bay 1:10 PM ET
The Tampa Bay Rays rank in the bottom third of the majors in runs scored but one would have a hard time convincing the San Diego Padres of that fact. The Rays blasted five home runs in Tuesday's 15-1 demotion of the visiting Padres and look to complete a three-game interleague sweep in Wednesday afternoon's series finale.
St. Louis at Houston 2:10 PM ET
The St. Louis Cardinals have regained their footing after stumbling out of the blocks to begin a nine-game road trip. The Cardinals will vie for their fourth straight win and a sweep of an abbreviated two-game interleague series with the Houston Astros on Wednesday afternoon when the clubs reconvene at Minute Maid Park.
Washington at Colorado 3:10 PM ET
Stephen Strasburg has hit a rut following his blistering 15-1 start to the season and will try to halt a two-start losing streak when the visiting Washington Nationals wrap up a three-game series against the Colorado Rockies on Wednesday afternoon. The Rockies snapped a four-game slide with a 6-2 win on Tuesday and sit 6 1/2 games behind St. Louis for the second wild-card spot in the National League.
Pittsburgh at San Francisco 3:45 PM ET
The San Francisco Giants look to avoid a sweep and climb back into first place in the National League West when they host the Pittsburgh Pirates on Wednesday afternoon for the finale of their three-game set. San Francisco dropped to 1-4 on its 10-game homestand with Tuesday's 4-3 setback and fell one-half game behind the Los Angeles Dodgers for the top spot in the division.
Boston at Baltimore 7:05 PM ET
If the Baltimore Orioles want to stay with the Boston Red Sox and keep the pressure on the Toronto Blue Jays in the American League East, they are going to need to find a way to slow down Mookie Betts. The Red Sox will try to ride Betts to a sweep of the brief two-game series when they visit the Orioles on Wednesday.
LA Dodgers at Philadelphia 7:05 PM ET
Chase Utley heard plenty of cheers at Citizens Bank Park during his 13 seasons with the Philadelphia Phillies, and again as an opponent for the first time on Tuesday. After receiving a curtain call following each of his two homers for the Los Angeles Dodgers, Utley looks to continue his emotional homecoming in style as the visitors vie for a series victory over the Phillies on Wednesday.
Chi. White Sox at Cleveland 7:10 PM ET
Veteran Mike Napoli added more fuel to the fire on his torrid stretch at the plate by continuing to run roughshod over the Chicago White Sox. The 34-year-old looks to keep both trends going on Wednesday as the Cleveland Indians vie for an eighth straight victory over the visiting White Sox.
Kansas City at Detroit 7:10 PM ET
The Kansas City Royals are doing a fine job of playing spoiler while the Detroit Tigers drift down the standings. The Royals will try to wrap up a three-game sweep and push the Tigers even further away from a postseason spot when they visit Detroit for the series finale on Wednesday.
Minnesota at Atlanta 7:10 PM ET
In a span of 14 ½ months, Dansby Swanson has completed the whirlwind journey from top pick in baseball’s amateur draft to a starting spot in the major leagues. The Atlanta Braves host the Minnesota Twins on Wednesday in the finale of a two-game series and all eyes will be on the 22-year-old Swanson, a metro Atlanta native who the organization announced will be promoted from Double-A to make his major-league debut at shortstop in the series finale.
Miami at Cincinnati 7:10 PM ET
The Miami Marlins still think they can hang onto a National League wild card spot with Giancarlo Stanton injured but can’t afford to lose a series to a last place club. The Marlins will try to jump back ahead in the four-game series when they visit the NL Central basement-dwelling Cincinnati Reds for the third of the set on Wednesday.
Oakland at Texas 8:05 PM ET
Yu Darvish has had career-long issues against the Oakland Athletics and will attempt to clear that hurdle when the Texas Rangers host the finale of the three-game series on Wednesday. Darvish is just 1-8 with a 4.76 ERA in 11 career starts against Oakland but fared well in a recent no-decision on July 27.
Milwaukee at Chi. Cubs 8:05 PM ET

For all the deserved hype surrounding their star-studded lineup, the Chicago Cubs have leaned on their starting pitching during a red-hot start to the second half. After two more strong pitching performances powered the Cubs to a doubleheader sweep of the visiting Milwaukee Brewers, left-hander Jon Lester looks to help Chicago make it three straight when the National League Central rivals continue their four-game series Wednesday.

NY Mets at Arizona 9:40 PM ET
The New York Mets finally have defeated Arizona this season and now look to win the series when they face the host Diamondbacks on Wednesday. New York lost four games to Arizona in a seven-day span before scoring seven runs in a two-inning stretch on Tuesday to post a 7-5 victory.
Seattle at LA Angels 10:05 PM ET
The Los Angeles Angels have ended an 11-game losing streak and look to win for only the fourth time in August when they host the Seattle Mariners on Wednesday. The Angels matched the franchise record for longest skid before registering a 7-6 victory in Tuesday's affair.
