August 05, 2015
Tampa Bay at Chi. White Sox 2:10 PM ET
The Tampa Bay Rays’ roller-coaster season is on an upturn again as they look to complete a three-game road sweep of the Chicago White Sox on Wednesday afternoon. The Rays have won three straight after dropping five of the previous seven games and their offense, which is near the bottom of the majors in runs scored, has produced 20 over the last three contests.
Seattle at Colorado 3:10 PM ET
The Seattle Mariners attempt to complete a sweep when they visit the Colorado Rockies for the finale of their three-game interleague series Wednesday afternoon. After holding off a late charge to edge Colorado in the opener, Seattle scored seven runs over the final four innings Tuesday to post a 10-4 victory.
Baltimore at Oakland 3:35 PM ET
The Oakland Athletics’ postseason hopes were dashed weeks ago, but they’re sliding comfortably into their role as spoiler. The last-place Athletics have won three of their last four heading into Wednesday’s rubber match against the visiting Baltimore Orioles, who have fallen into third place in the AL East, 6 1/2 games behind the New York Yankees.
Cleveland at LA Angels 3:35 PM ET
The Cleveland Indians look to end their road trip on a winning note as they visit the Los Angeles Angels for the rubber match of their three-game series Wednesday afternoon. Cleveland evened its mark on its seven-game trek at 3-3 and knotted the set at one win apiece by outlasting Los Angeles 2-0 in 12 innings on Tuesday.
Boston at NY Yankees 7:05 PM ET
The Boston Red Sox gave one of their top pitching prospects his major-league debut on Tuesday, and the New York Yankees will do the same on Wednesday. The Yankees will introduce Luis Severino to the home fans when they host the rival Red Sox in the second contest of a three-game series.
Arizona at Washington 7:05 PM ET
After putting a halt to their four-game skid, the Washington Nationals look to continue their dominance of the visiting Arizona Diamondbacks on Wednesday when the clubs play the third contest of the four-game series. Wilson Ramos blooped a two-run single in the eighth inning of Tuesday's 5-4 triumph for Washington, which has won 17 of the last 23 meetings with Arizona - including nine of 11 in the nation's capital.
Chi. Cubs at Pittsburgh 7:05 PM ET

The Chicago Cubs will try to wrap up a perfect road trip and earn their season-high seventh consecutive victory when they finish an abbreviated two-game series at the Pittsburgh Pirates on Wednesday. The Cubs matched their longest winning streak of the season with a 5-0 victory Tuesday to move a season-high 11 games above .500.

LA Dodgers at Philadelphia 7:05 PM ET
The Philadelphia Phillies are thriving in the role of spoilers and look to extend their second-half hot streak in the second of a three-game series versus the visiting Los Angeles Dodgers on Wednesday night. The resurgent Phillies snapped the Dodgers' four-game winning streak and improved to 13-3 since the All-Star break with a 6-2 victory in the series opener.
Minnesota at Toronto 7:07 PM ET
Josh Donaldson and Troy Tulowitzki are swinging hot bats for the Toronto Blue Jays while the Minnesota Twins might be in need of gloves to handle their ice-cold lumber at the plate. Donaldson and Tulowitzki look to continue their good fortune on Wednesday as the host Blue Jays vie for their seventh win in eight outings when they play the third contest of the four-game series versus the Twins.
Kansas City at Detroit 7:08 PM ET
The Detroit Tigers are only four games out of the second wild card in the American League, but that counts as a major disappointment for the club following four straight AL Central titles. The Kansas City Royals, who are taking over the top spot in the Central, will try to continue taking advantage of that disappointment when they visit the Tigers for the second contest of a three-game series on Wednesday.
San Francisco at Atlanta 7:10 PM ET
The San Francisco Giants will try not to get ahead of themselves when they visit the Atlanta Braves on Wednesday for the rubber match of their three-game series as a key four-game set with the Cubs in Chicago begins Thursday. San Francisco erased the memory of blowing three leads in Monday's 9-8 loss in 12 innings by prevailing 8-3 on Tuesday to pull within two games of the first-place Los Angeles Dodgers in the National League West and remain one-half game behind Chicago for the final wild-card
St. Louis at Cincinnati 7:10 PM ET
Carlos Martinez has blossomed into one of the top young pitchers in the game and will go for his 12th win when the St. Louis Cardinals visit the Cincinnati Reds on Wednesday in the second of a three-game series. The Cardinals have dominated their National League Central Division rival in recent years but have dropped three straight to the Reds over an eight-day span.
NY Mets at Miami 7:10 PM ET
The first-place New York Mets seek their sixth straight victory when they finish a three-game series in Miami on Wednesday. Every starter had a hit and Jonathon Niese was sharp through seven innings as the Mets picked up a 5-1 win Tuesday, improving to 8-4 against the Marlins and maintaining a one-game lead over Washington in the National League East.
Houston at Texas 8:05 PM ET
It appears first-place Houston made a solid move in acquiring Scott Kazmir prior to the trade deadline, and the Astros hope the investment continues to pay dividends when they visit the Texas Rangers on Wednesday for the finale of their three-game series. Kazmir, the American League Pitcher of the Month for July whose 0.26 ERA during that period was the third-lowest in the month's history, has yet to allow a run in two starts since joining his hometown team and has dominated Texas.
San Diego at Milwaukee 8:10 PM ET
The San Diego Padres kept their team intact at the trade deadline in hopes of contending this season but cannot afford too many more losses. The Padres will try to avoid back-to-back setbacks when they visit the Milwaukee Brewers for the third contest of a four-game series Wednesday.
