San Francisco at NY Mets 12:10 PM ET
The San Francisco Giants look to continue their dominance over the New York Mets and claim three of four on the road when the teams wrap up their series Monday afternoon. The Giants have won five of six meetings this season, outscoring the Mets 31-15. New York starter Dillon Gee will have to contend with Giants outfielder Hunter Pence, who has seven RBIs in the series but is 2-for-16 with five strikeouts in his career versus Gee.
Cincinnati at Cleveland 7:05 PM ET
Corey Kluber has been one of baseball’s top pitchers since the start of May and the Cleveland Indians’ right-hander was at his best last month. Kluber, who was 4-0 with a 1.54 ERA in July, looks to stay hot when the Indians host the Cincinnati Reds on Monday in the opener of a four-game, home-and-home series. Cleveland comes in off a three-game sweep of Texas and the Reds won three of four at Miami, moving within 4 ½ games of first-place Milwaukee in the National League Central.
Detroit at NY Yankees 7:05 PM ET
The Detroit Tigers did not seem to miss Austin Jackson in center field or at the top of the lineup in a three-game sweep of the Colorado Rockies over the weekend. The Tigers will try to keep the offense humming along when they open a nine-game road trip at the New York Yankees on Monday. The Yankees are hanging onto the fringes of the race in the American League East and the wild card, and could use a strong showing on their seven-game homestand.
Baltimore at Washington 7:05 PM ET
The Washington Nationals will host the Baltimore Orioles on Monday in a makeup game from a rainout back on July 8. That game was washed away following a 2 1/2-hour delay, prompting both teams to reconvene on a previously scheduled off-day nearly a month later. Both squads won twice over the weekend, with the Nationals splitting a four-game set against the Philadelphia Phillies and the Orioles taking two of three from the Seattle Mariners.
Texas at Chi. White Sox 8:10 PM ET
The Chicago White Sox are trying to remain relevant in the American League playoff race but they must find a solution to their bullpen woes to maintain any hope. The White Sox look to rebound from dropping two of three to Minnesota when they host the major league-worst Texas Rangers on Monday in the opener of a three-game series. Chicago's bullpen was eviscerated by Minnesota over the weekend, getting torched for 22 runs on 29 hits over nine innings.
Tampa Bay at Oakland 10:05 PM ET
The Tampa Bay Rays begin a pivotal 10-game road trip at Oakland on Monday in an excursion that may help decide whether or not they remain in the American League wild-card race. Tampa Bay is five games behind Toronto for the AL’s second wild card entering a trip that begins with three games against the Athletics and Chicago Cubs before concluding with four against the Texas Rangers. Oakland holds a one-game lead over the Los Angeles Angels in the AL West.
LA Angels at LA Dodgers 10:10 PM ET
The Los Angeles Angels look to slow down hot-hitting Matt Kemp on Monday when they visit the Los Angeles Dodgers for the start of a two-game set. The Angels have won seven of their last 10 to pull within a game of first-place Oakland in the American League West, while the Dodgers lead second-place San Francisco by 2 1/2 games. Kemp has homered in five of the last six games for the Dodgers, who lost two of three to the Chicago Cubs over the weekend.
