Texas at Cleveland 1:05 PM ET
The Cleveland Indians look to continue their dominance of the visiting Texas Rangers when the teams conclude their three-game set on Sunday. Cleveland slugged its way to a 12-2 triumph in the series opener before posting a 2-0 triumph on Saturday to record its 10th win in 11 meetings with Texas.
Colorado at Detroit 1:08 PM ET
The first-place Detroit Tigers seem to be putting it all together as they try for a three-game sweep over the visiting Colorado Rockies on Sunday. Detroit scored in every inning - the first time that's happened in an interleague game - en route to an 11-5 victory Saturday to increase its lead over Kansas City in the American League Central to five games. The Tigers were struggling offensively with 21 runs in their previous seven contests before exploding for three homers among their 16 hits.
Cincinnati at Miami 1:10 PM ET
With a frustrating three-game losing streak behind them, the Miami Marlins look to earn a split of their four-game home set with the Cincinnati Reds on Sunday. The Marlins had won nine of 11 entering the series, but dropped the first two against the Reds before Christian Yelich’s RBI single in the 10th inning gave them a 2-1 victory on Saturday. Cincinnati saw its seven-game winning streak against Miami halted and is only 4-11 since the All-Star break while averaging 2.2 runs.
San Francisco at NY Mets 1:10 PM ET
The New York Mets hope to receive another stellar pitching performance when they host the San Francisco Giants in the third contest of their four-game series Sunday. New York evened the set at one win apiece behind a tremendous effort from rookie Jacob deGrom, who carried a no-hitter into the seventh and finished having allowed two runs and four hits in 7 1/3 innings as he won his fifth straight start.
Seattle at Baltimore 1:35 PM ET
Chris Tillman attempts to continue his dominance of Seattle hitters when the Baltimore Orioles close a three-game set against the visiting Mariners on Sunday. Tillman has won each of his five career outings against Seattle, compiling a 2.45 ERA and 0.91 WHIP over 33 innings. The teams split the two first games with Robinson Cano belting a three-run homer and Kendrys Morales adding a two-run single to lead the Mariners to a 6-3 victory on Saturday.
Philadelphia at Washington 1:35 PM ET
The Washington Nationals hope to earn a split of their four-game home series with the Philadelphia Phillies when the teams square off Sunday afternoon. Splitting the series would be a respectable outcome for the Nationals after they lost the first two games against the last-place Phillies. Anthony Rendon had four RBIs and Jordan Zimmermann pitched seven strong innings in Saturday's 11-0 triumph as Washington cruised to victory.
LA Angels at Tampa Bay 1:40 PM ET
The Tampa Bay Rays attempt to continue their surge toward a postseason berth when they host the Los Angeles Angels in the rubber match of their three-game series Sunday. Tampa Bay rebounded from a loss in the opener of the set with an emphatic 10-3 victory as Evan Longoria - who reached the 600-RBI mark for his career - and Logan Forsythe both homered, drove in two runs and scored twice.
Minnesota at Chi. White Sox 2:10 PM ET
Run support was an issue for Jose Quintana until his latest start, but the Chicago White Sox may be on the verge of correcting that going forward, given their recent offensive fireworks. Quintana looks to extend his unbeaten streak to nine starts on Sunday, when the White Sox host the Minnesota Twins in the rubber match of their three-game series. Chicago averaged 3.2 runs its first six games following the All-Star break but has tallied 6.7 in the nine games since.
Toronto at Houston 2:10 PM ET
The Houston Astros are making life tough for playoff contenders as their young team begins to come together. The Astros will try to earn their second straight series win over an American League contender when they host the Toronto Blue Jays in the finale of a four-game series on Sunday. Houston took two of three from the AL-best Oakland Athletics earlier in the week and put itself in position to drop Toronto with back-to-back wins.
Milwaukee at St. Louis 2:15 PM ET
After one new acquisition emerged victorious in his debut, the St. Louis Cardinals hope the same holds true for another on Sunday. John Lackey looks to follow in Justin Masterson's footsteps when he takes the mound in the rubber match of the three-game series versus the visiting Milwaukee Brewers.
Kansas City at Oakland 4:05 PM ET
Jonny Gomes got his second stint with Oakland off to a good start and looks for another productive outing when the Athletics close a three-game series against the visiting Kansas City Royals on Sunday. Gomes, who hit 18 homers for Oakland in 2012, was sent to the Athletics with pitcher Jon Lester in a deal for Yoenis Cespedes and he had two hits and two RBIs in Saturday’s 8-3 victory. Oakland leads the Los Angeles Angels by two games in the American League West.
Pittsburgh at Arizona 4:10 PM ET
The Pittsburgh Pirates are making a living out of feasting on the Arizona Diamondbacks’ bullpen this weekend. The Pirates will try to clinch the four-game series and ensure a winning road trip when they visit the Diamondbacks on Sunday for the finale. Each of the last two games have been close affairs until the eighth inning, when the Pittsburgh offense unleashed on the Arizona bullpen to the tune of 15 total runs in the final two frames.
Atlanta at San Diego 4:10 PM ET
Tyson Ross put together a strong first half for the San Diego Padres, and the All-Star selection would be even higher on National League leaderboards with a little more run support. Ross, who brings a three-start winning streak into Sunday’s series finale at home against the Atlanta Braves, ranks fourth in the league in strikeouts, fifth in innings pitched and sixth in ERA – despite the Padres scoring two runs or less in 11 of his 23 starts.
Chi. Cubs at LA Dodgers 4:10 PM ET
The Los Angeles Dodgers are hoping to be at full strength Sunday for the rubber match of a three-game series against the Chicago Cubs, who are proving to be a worthy adversary. First baseman Adrian Gonzalez (sore back) and outfielder Yasiel Puig (hamstring) were both held out of Saturday’s starting lineup for precautionary reasons, but each appeared as a pinch hitter late in the Dodgers’ 5-2, 12-inning victory.
NY Yankees at Boston 8:00 PM ET
The New York Yankees are trying to break out of a funk and stay in the race in the American League East. Several new arrivals attempt to give the Yankees a series win when they visit the Boston Red Sox in the rubber match of a three-game series. The Red Sox took the opener on Friday as they worked a slew of new players into the lineup but fell off on Saturday as New York earned a 6-4 victory to even the series.
