Preview Roundups
July 25, 2015
Detroit at Boston 4:05 PM ET
If the Detroit Tigers have any hope of staying in the race and keeping some key pieces intact through the trade deadline on July 31, losing a series to the worst team in the American League is not the way to go. The Tigers will try to even the three-game series at one win apiece when they visit the Boston Red Sox on Saturday.
Oakland at San Francisco 4:05 PM ET
The San Francisco Giants look to clinch a series win when they host the Bay Area-rival Oakland Athletics in the middle contest of their three-game interleague series Saturday afternoon. San Francisco returned home from a 5-1 road trip to pound out 17 hits en route to a 9-3 win in the series opener.
Philadelphia at Chi. Cubs 4:05 PM ET

Some reports indicate Cole Hamels could be pitching for the Chicago Cubs soon, but unless a trade takes place before his scheduled start Saturday afternoon, the left-hander will be in a Philadelphia Phillies uniform trying to beat his potential future team. The surging Phillies look for their second straight win over the Cubs and their seventh in eight games since the All-Star break when the teams continue their three-game set in Chicago.

Toronto at Seattle 4:10 PM ET
The Toronto Blue Jays missed an opportunity to pick up ground on the New York Yankees and will try again to move closer to the American League East leaders when they visit the Seattle Mariners on Saturday. Toronto lost 5-2 to Felix Hernandez and the Mariners in Friday's series opener to remain 5 1/2 games behind the Yankees.
Baltimore at Tampa Bay 6:10 PM ET
The Tampa Bay Rays look to follow up an inspiring come-from-behind victory when they host the Baltimore Orioles in the second of a three-game series on Saturday. John Jaso and Tim Beckham had clutch two-out, run-producing hits in the eighth inning as Tampa Bay notched a 3-1 victory Friday after a dispiriting 2-4 road trip that continued an 8-19 slump.
Washington at Pittsburgh 7:05 PM ET
Ian Desmond certainly has changed his fortunes in a heartbeat, going 8-for-16 during his five-game hitting streak following a 16-at-bat hitless run over his previous five contests. Desmond looks to continue his personal positive stretch and prevent the Washington Nationals from dropping their sixth contest in eight outings on Saturday when they visit the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Chi. White Sox at Cleveland 7:10 PM ET
Whatever offensive problems the Chicago White Sox were dealing with immediately following the All-Star break have been wiped away over the last two games. The White Sox will try to post their third straight convincing win when they visit the Cleveland Indians in the third contest of a four-game series on Saturday.
Houston at Kansas City 7:10 PM ET
The Houston Astros are receiving quite the offensive jolt from Jose Altuve and Preston Tucker of late. The pair looks to continue their respective hot hitting as visiting Houston vies for its eighth consecutive victory over the Kansas City Royals when the clubs continue their three-game series on Saturday.
NY Yankees at Minnesota 7:10 PM ET
The road has posed some problems for the New York Yankees this season, and the Minnesota Twins are trying to take advantage of that particular struggle. The Twins will try to clinch a win in the three-game series when they host the Yankees on Saturday.
LA Dodgers at NY Mets 7:10 PM ET
Justin Turner looks to continue his torrid stretch at his former team's expense as the visiting Los Angeles Dodgers vie for their sixth win in eight outings on Saturday against the New York Mets. Turner, who played for the Mets from 2010-13, homered and added two doubles in Friday's 7-2 triumph to improve to 16-for-31 with six runs scored over his last eight games.
Atlanta at St. Louis 7:15 PM ET
The ever-evolving nature of the Atlanta Braves roster continues as they play at the St. Louis Cardinals in the middle matchup of a three-game series Saturday, one night after dealing Juan Uribe and Kelly Johnson to the Mets during batting practice for two pitching prospects. The Cardinals, owners of baseball’s best record, also jumped into the pre-trade deadline frenzy Friday, acquiring former Miami closer Steve Cishek to bolster their bullpen for the sprint to the postseason.
Milwaukee at Arizona 8:10 PM ET
Rookie Taylor Jungmann attempts to win his fourth consecutive start and fifth straight decision when the Milwaukee Brewers visit the Arizona Diamondbacks on Saturday. Jungmann has allowed just three runs and 12 hits in 24 innings over his last three starts while emerging as a surprisingly good hurler for the Brewers.
Cincinnati at Colorado 8:10 PM ET
Johnny Cueto could be making his final start as a member of the Cincinnati Reds on Saturday when he faces the host Colorado Rockies, who opened the three-game series with Friday’s dramatic 6-5 victory. Cueto is one of several players being mentioned in trade rumors on the Reds, who have lost seven of their last 10 to fall a season-high 10 games under .500.
Miami at San Diego 8:40 PM ET
The San Diego Padres have yet to officially decide whether to abandon the season as they host the Miami Marlins in Saturday's third contest of their four-game set. San Diego ended a three-game losing streak with Friday's 3-1 victory over the Marlins and sits seven games below .500 as the July 31 non-waiver trading deadline looms.
Texas at LA Angels 9:05 PM ET
The Texas Rangers attempt to post their fourth consecutive victory when they visit the Los Angeles Angels for the second contest of their three-game series Saturday. Shin-soo Choo snapped a tie with an RBI double during a three-run fifth inning as Texas opened the set with a 4-2 triumph.
