Preview Roundups
June 27, 2015
Texas at Toronto 1:07 PM ET
The Toronto Blue Jays wasted little time flexing their offensive muscles in the series opener while sending the Texas Rangers to their season-high sixth straight defeat. After belting four homers in a 12-2 rout, the Blue Jays will look for more of the same when they continue their three-game set against the visiting Rangers on Saturday afternoon.
Minnesota at Milwaukee 2:10 PM ET
The Milwaukee Brewers have not gotten the better of many teams this season but can claim regional superiority with one more win this weekend. The Brewers attempt to wrap up their second series win over the Minnesota Twins when they host the second contest of their three-game interleague set on Saturday.
Washington at Philadelphia 3:05 PM ET
The Washington Nationals need to look no further than their scintillating starting pitching as the primary reason for their season-high seven-game winning streak. Although the rotation's scoreless stretch ended at a franchise-best 48 innings in the series opener, Washington expects to pick up where it left off as left-hander Gio Gonzalez takes the mound against the host Philadelphia Phillies on Saturday.
Kansas City at Oakland 4:05 PM ET
The Kansas City Royals look to continue their recent dominance over the Athletics on Saturday when the teams continue a three-game series in Oakland. The Royals defeated Oakland for the ninth time in their last 12 meetings Friday when they snapped the Athletics’ season-high five-game winning streak with a 5-2 victory.
Atlanta at Pittsburgh 4:05 PM ET
Julio Teheran put forth his best start of an uneven 2015 his last time out, and the Atlanta Braves really need the 24-year-old to step forward when the Braves play at the Pittsburgh Pirates on Saturday. The Pirates won Friday’s series opener 3-2 in 10 innings, handing Atlanta its fourth consecutive loss and dropping the Braves six games out in the National League East.
Colorado at San Francisco 4:05 PM ET
Colorado's best players are performing as such, and while it might not be enough for the Rockies to seriously contend in the National League West, it could pay off down the road. Troy Tulowitzki and Carlos Gonzalez — candidates to be moved prior to next month's trade deadline — and budding superstar Nolan Arenado look to stay hot as Colorado visits the San Francisco Giants on Saturday in the middle contest of their three-game series.
Chi. White Sox at Detroit 4:08 PM ET
J.D. Martinez continued his remarkable power surge by belting the go-ahead homer to help the Detroit Tigers even their four-game series with the Chicago White Sox at one victory apiece. Martinez, who has gone deep six times in his last five games, looks to continue his offensive barrage when the American League Central rivals reconvene at Comerica Park on Saturday.
Boston at Tampa Bay 4:10 PM ET
The Tampa Bay Rays are fighting off three teams in the American League East and can’t afford to drop a series to the team in last place. The Rays will try to avoid such an occurrence when they host the Boston Red Sox in the second of a three-game series on Saturday.
NY Yankees at Houston 4:10 PM ET
Masahiro Tanaka attempts to bounce back from his worst start of the season when the New York Yankees visit the Houston Astros on Saturday afternoon for the third contest of their four-game set. Houston native Chris Young continued his scorching success in his hometown by swatting a three-run homer Friday as the Yankees evened the series at one win apiece with a 3-2 victory.
Cincinnati at NY Mets 4:10 PM ET
The New York Mets have made the decision to shift to a six-man starting rotation for the "foreseeable future" and among the reasons is to reduce the workload of ace Matt Harvey in his first season back from Tommy John surgery. Harvey will be on the mound Saturday as the Mets continue their three-game series against the visiting Cincinnati Reds.
LA Dodgers at Miami 4:10 PM ET
Giancarlo Stanton and Dee Gordon are doing their best to jumpstart the Miami Marlins offense but aren’t getting much help. The Marlins will try to snap a five-game slide and even the series at one win apiece when they host the Los Angeles Dodgers on Saturday.
Cleveland at Baltimore 7:15 PM ET
The Baltimore Orioles opened the month with three straight losses but they have been on a roll since, winning 16 of their last 21 contests to move a season-high five games over .500. The surging Orioles are 8-1 at home in June following Friday's 4-3 victory over Cleveland and look to continue the momentum Saturday night against the visiting Indians.
Seattle at LA Angels 7:15 PM ET
The Los Angeles Angels attempt to continue the trend of their current homestand and post a victory when they take on the Seattle Mariners in the middle contest of their three-game series Saturday. Los Angeles has alternated wins and losses over the first four games of its string at home, capturing two of three against Houston before suffering a 3-1 loss to Seattle in Friday's series opener.
Chi. Cubs at St. Louis 7:15 PM ET

The St. Louis Cardinals have been nearly unbeatable at home, where they aim for an eighth consecutive victory when they face the Chicago Cubs on Saturday. The Cardinals won their seventh straight at home and fourth in a row overall by rallying for a 3-2 triumph in 10 innings in Friday's series opener.

Arizona at San Diego 10:10 PM ET
The Arizona Diamondbacks look to avoid a third straight loss when they visit the San Diego Padres on Saturday. One night after losing the rubber match of its three-game set at Colorado, Arizona dropped a 4-2 decision to San Diego in Friday's opener.
