Detroit at NY Yankees 7:05 PM ET
Carlos Beltran has been on a tear since mid-May and is showing no signs of slowing down. The 39-year-old looks to continue his torrid hitting display on Friday as the New York Yankees open a three-game series versus the visiting Detroit Tigers.
Philadelphia at Washington 7:05 PM ET
Washington Nationals fireballer Stephen Strasburg has run roughshod over the competition for much of this season - and against the Philadelphia Phillies throughout the majority of his career. The 27-year-old fireballer will look to extend both impressive runs on Friday, when the National League East rivals open a three-game series in the nation's capital.
St. Louis at Pittsburgh 7:05 PM ET
The eighth time turned out to be the charm for the St. Louis Cardinals, who needed that many attempts to finally move a season-high four games over .500. Eight attempts has not been enough for right-hander Michael Wacha, who goes for his first win in nine starts when the Cardinals open a three-game set at the Pittsburgh Pirates on Friday night.
Baltimore at Toronto 7:07 PM ET
The Baltimore Orioles ended May with a whimper but they have once again taken charge of the American League East in June. The Orioles look to make it six wins in a row when they continue a four-game series at the Toronto Blue Jays on Friday.
Houston at Tampa Bay 7:10 PM ET
The Tampa Bay Rays battled their way out a slump at the end of a long road trip and hope to improve their play at home with 20 of the next 27 games at Tropicana Field. The Rays won five of their last six contests on the road and open a nine-game homestand Friday with the first of three against the up-and-down Houston Astros.
Oakland at Cincinnati 7:10 PM ET
The Cincinnati Reds finally will receive a reinforcement for their injury-ravaged starting rotation when Anthony DeSclafani makes his season debut on Friday in the opener of a three-game interleague series against the visiting Oakland Athletics. The series will cap a nine-game homestand for Cincinnati, which is 5-3 in June.
Chi. Cubs at Atlanta 7:35 PM ET
The Chicago Cubs expected to get great pitching at the front of their starting rotation, but the work of their back-end starters is a big reason they bring baseball’s best record into the opener of a three-game series Friday at the major league-worst Atlanta Braves. The Cubs come in having won 17 games since May 10 – matching Atlanta’s victory total for the season – and Jason Hammel starts the opener for Chicago looking to extend the team's mound dominance.
Boston at Minnesota 8:10 PM ET
Steven Wright is making life on the road look like a carefree walk in the park. With three consecutive complete-game gems away from home in his rear-view mirror, Wright attempts to continue his torrid stretch on Friday as the Boston Red Sox open a three-game series against the host Minnesota Twins.
Kansas City at Chi. White Sox 8:10 PM ET
A pair of American League Central rivals mired in ugly tailspins will try to get well at the expense of each other when the Kansas City Royals continue a disastrous 10-game trek on Friday against the Chicago White Sox. Kansas City has lost all seven games on its road trip thus far while Chicago is 7-20 in its last 27 after halting a five-game skid on Thursday.
NY Mets at Milwaukee 8:10 PM ET
The New York Mets attempt to continue their dominance in the season series when they visit the Milwaukee Brewers on Friday for the second contest of their four-game set. After recording a three-game sweep of the Brewers at home from May 20-22, New York recorded a 5-2 triumph in Thursday's opener behind a strong seven-inning performance by Bartolo Colon.
San Diego at Colorado 8:40 PM ET
Jon Gray dominated San Diego batters in his last outing and the right-hander aims to do so again when the Colorado Rockies open a three-game series against the visiting Padres on Friday. Gray struck out a career-best 12 and gave up two runs and five hits in seven innings as the Rockies rolled to a 10-3 victory last Sunday in San Diego.
Miami at Arizona 9:40 PM ET
After reaching double digits in runs for the first time in nearly two months, the Miami Marlins look to remain perfect against the Diamondbacks this season when they begin a three-game series in Arizona on Friday. Miami salvaged the finale of its three-game road interleague set versus Minnesota with a 10-3 victory on Thursday, matching its season high in runs first accomplished with an identical 10-3 road win over the New York Mets on April 11.
Cleveland at LA Angels 10:05 PM ET
The Los Angeles Angels have been one of the most disappointing teams in baseball during the first 60 games of the season and are in a deep funk as they open a three-game series against the visiting Cleveland Indians on Friday. Los Angeles was outscored 29-14 while suffering a four-game sweep at the hands of the New York Yankees and has lost six of its last eight games to fall a season-worst eight games under .500.
Texas at Seattle 10:10 PM ET
The Texas Rangers won three straight games against Seattle last weekend and look to post another three-game sweep of the Mariners when the American League West combatants open another series Friday. Texas outscored the Mariners 20-9 in its home ballpark and has won 15 of its last 19 overall games as it embarks on a 10-game road trip starting in Seattle.
LA Dodgers at San Francisco 10:15 PM ET
The Dodgers and Giants renew their rivalry with a three-game series beginning Friday in San Francisco after a alteration to the rotation allowed Los Angeles to use Clayton Kershaw in the opener. The Dodgers' ace left-hander, who owns the lowest ERA in baseball at 1.46, is 17-7 with a 1.60 ERA in 33 games (32 starts) versus the Giants - 9-3, 1.23 in 16 appearances (15 starts) at AT&T Park - while San Francisco counters with Johnny Cueto, who is thriving in his first season with the Giants.
