Arizona at Pittsburgh 12:35 PM ET
The Pittsburgh Pirates are winners of three straight and eight of their last 10 and will try to wrap up a three-game sweep when they host the Arizona Diamondbacks in the finale of a 10-game homestand on Thursday. The Diamondbacks dropped nine of their last 13 games and allowed a total of 17 runs in the first two games of the series.
Miami at Tampa Bay 1:10 PM ET
Jose Fernandez is in a sensational groove and will look to win his sixth consecutive start when the visiting Miami Marlins wrap up a four-game, home-and-home series against the Tampa Bay Rays on Thursday afternoon. After splitting the first two games in Miami, the Marlins squeezed out a 4-3 victory Wednesday to improve to 14-9 away from home.
Toronto at NY Yankees 4:05 PM ET
Alex Rodriguez will come off the disabled list and rejoin the lineup Thursday afternoon, when the New York Yankees host the Toronto Blue Jays in the rubber match of their three-game set. St. Louis at Washington 7:05 PM ET
The St. Louis Cardinals have scored the most runs in the National League but they need to straighten out their pitching staff entering a four-game series beginning Thursday at the Washington Nationals. Mike Leake looks to win his fourth consecutive start for the Cardinals, who will attempt to avenge a three-game sweep at home almost a month ago.
Colorado at Boston 7:10 PM ET
The Boston Red Sox offense keeps bashing its way through opposing pitching staffs and the Colorado Rockies seem helpless to stop it. Milwaukee at Atlanta 7:10 PM ET
The Atlanta Braves have not fared well in close games at home this season and hope to shake off a pair of disappointing losses by salvaging the finale of their three-game set against the visiting Milwaukee Brewers on Thursday. Atlanta dropped to 2-19 at home with Wednesday’s 3-2 loss in 13 innings, which followed a 2-1 setback in the series opener and dropped it to 0-11 in home contests decided by fewer than three runs.
Baltimore at Houston 8:10 PM ET
Evan Gattis has been enjoying a power surge since returning to the major leagues, and he attempts to go deep for the second straight night as the Houston Astros look to complete a sweep when they host the Baltimore Orioles in the finale of their three-game series. Gattis' two-run homer in Wednesday's 4-3 victory was his fourth in the last eight games.
Chi. White Sox at Kansas City 8:15 PM ET
The Chicago White Sox got off to a strong start but have since come back to the pack in the American League Central as they being a four-game road series against the defending World Series champion Kansas City Royals on Thursday. Chicago once possessed a 23-10 record but has lost 11 of its last 15 games to lead second-place Cleveland by a half-game and the third-place Royals by two games.
