Preview Roundups
May 07, 2015
Oakland at Minnesota 1:10 PM ET
The Minnesota Twins look to continue their winning ways when they host the Oakland Athletics in the finale of a four-game set on Thursday afternoon at Target Field. The red-hot Twins have won six of their last seven games and are coming off a 13-0 victory as highly-touted prospect Eddie Rosario made a memorable introduction by becoming the first Minnesota player and just the 29th in major league history to hit a home run on his first pitch.
LA Dodgers at Milwaukee 1:40 PM ET
No team has dug itself a deeper hole this season than the Milwaukee Brewers, who are the only franchise in the majors with a double-digit deficit in their division. The Brewers appear to be trying to turn that around and look for their second straight series victory after dropping the previous 11 on Thursday when they wrap up a four-game set with the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Chi. Cubs at St. Louis 1:45 PM ET

With their four-game losing streak out of the way, the Chicago Cubs can focus on salvaging a split with the rival St. Louis Cardinals on Thursday afternoon. The Cubs, who snapped the host Cardinals' eight-game winning streak Wednesday, aim to earn a split of the four-game set and even the season series.

Detroit at Chi. White Sox 2:10 PM ET
The Chicago White Sox are last in the league in home runs but a timely blast paved the way to a dramatic victory and gave them a chance to complete a three-game sweep of the visiting Detroit Tigers on Thursday afternoon. Melky Cabrera hit a tying three-run homer as Chicago scored four runs in the eighth inning Wednesday to rally past the Tigers for a 7-6 victory.
Cleveland at Kansas City 2:10 PM ET
Reigning American League Cy Young Award winner Corey Kluber will make his seventh attempt at his first victory when he leads the Cleveland Indians into the finale of a three-game series at the Kansas City Royals on Thursday. Kluber, who won a league-leading 18 games a season ago, has dropped each of his last three starts while allowing 14 earned runs in 17 1/3 innings.
Baltimore at NY Yankees 7:05 PM ET
The New York Yankees dropped two of three at Baltimore last month and look to turn things around when they host the Orioles on Thursday night in the opener of a four-game series. The Yankees lost at Toronto on Wednesday to conclude a 4-2 road trip while Baltimore kicked off its six-game New York trek by losing both contests to the Mets.
Cincinnati at Pittsburgh 7:05 PM ET

The Pittsburgh Pirates' offensive struggles are becoming cause for concern in the Steel City. The Pirates hope to find their bats and salvage the finale of a three-game series with the visiting Cincinnati Reds on Thursday.

Texas at Tampa Bay 7:10 PM ET
The Texas Rangers look to build off an offensive explosion in their first series victory of the season when they visit the Tampa Bay Rays on Thursday to start a four-game set. The Rangers recorded a three-game sweep of the American League West-leading Houston Astros as they produced 20 runs, including a season-high 11 in Wednesday’s romp.
San Diego at Arizona 9:40 PM ET
The Arizona Diamondbacks have crawled out of the cellar in the National League West and attempt to creep further up the standings when they open a four-game series against the host San Diego Padres on Thursday. Fourth-place Arizona is 1 1/2 games behind the second-place Padres but San Diego took two of three games when the teams met in mid-April.
Houston at LA Angels 10:05 PM ET
Collin McHugh seeks to continue his impressive streak when the Houston Astros open a four-game series against the host Los Angeles Angels on Thursday. McHugh is 4-0 this season and has won 11 consecutive decisions with his last defeat coming July 27.
Miami at San Francisco 10:15 PM ET
Michael Morse returns to San Francisco on Thursday as the Miami Marlins begin a four-game series against the Giants, but there’s no guarantee the slumping first baseman will be in the starting lineup. Morse has sat out the last three games and is batting .193 in his first 88 at-bats since leaving the Giants for Miami during the offseason.
