Preview Roundups
April 27, 2015
Toronto at Boston 6:10 PM ET
Pitching was a concern for the Boston Red Sox when they began the season and that has not changed after surrendering 37 runs – 18 on Sunday – while losing four of their last five contests. Joe Kelly goes to the mound to try and change the trend when the Red Sox host the Toronto Blue Jays on Monday to begin a three-game series between American League East rivals.
Kansas City at Cleveland 6:10 PM ET
The Cleveland Indians are hoping their second homestand of the season produces better results than their first. Cleveland, which went 1-4 during its first string of contests at Progressive Field, begins a seven-game stretch with the opener of a three-game set against the Kansas City Royals on Monday.
Chi. White Sox at Baltimore 7:05 PM ET
The Baltimore Orioles look to build off their highest offensive output in more than nine years when they host the improving Chicago White Sox on Monday to begin a three-game set. Delmon Young recorded five RBIs and Chris Davis belted his second homer in three games as the Orioles scored 18 times to beat Boston on Sunday, their most runs since April 19, 2006.
Tampa Bay at NY Yankees 7:05 PM ET
The Tampa Bay Rays will play their first outdoor game of the season when they open a three-game series against the New York Yankees on Monday in a showdown for first place in the American League East. The surprising Rays, who have played their first 19 games in domed stadiums, are coming off a three-game sweep of Toronto to extend their winning streak to five.
Washington at Atlanta 7:10 PM ET
The Washington Nationals were overwhelming favorites to win the National League East this season, but injuries and offensive struggles have led to a 7-12 start. The Nationals open a three-game series Monday at the Atlanta Braves looking to snap a five-game losing streak, and received more bad news Sunday when Max Scherzer was ruled out of Tuesday’s start due to a sore right thumb.
Milwaukee at Cincinnati 7:10 PM ET
The Cincinnati Reds will attempt to put an end to a pair of losing streaks when they host the National League-worst Milwaukee Brewers on Monday in the opener of a three-game series. The Reds have lost three straight overall and four in a row at home after dropping both games of a rain-shortened series to the Chicago Cubs over the weekend.
NY Mets at Miami 7:10 PM ET
After being brought back down to the ground by their crosstown rivals over the weekend, the New York Mets look to continue beating up on divisional opponents when they visit the Miami Marlins for the opener of a three-game series on Monday. New York matched a franchise record by registering 11 consecutive victories - all against fellow National League East clubs - before dropping two of three at Yankee Stadium, including a 6-4 setback on Sunday.
Seattle at Texas 8:05 PM ET

The Seattle Mariners and Texas Rangers are fighting to stay out of the American League West cellar, but they're one good series from contending for the top spot in the crowded division. The division rivals look to build some positive momentum when they begin a three-game series Monday in Texas.

Pittsburgh at Chi. Cubs 8:05 PM ET

The Pittsburgh Pirates' five-game winning streak started against the Chicago Cubs, who now get a chance to end it. The National League Central rivals square off for the fifth time in eight days when they open a three-game series Monday in Chicago.

Detroit at Minnesota 8:10 PM ET
The Detroit Tigers look to continue their early-season dominance over American League Central-rival Minnesota when they kick off a 10-game road trip against the Twins on Monday. David Price takes the mound for the Tigers, who opened the season with a three-game sweep of Minnesota - outscoring the Twins 22-1 while extending their winning streak in the all-time series to four contests.
Philadelphia at St. Louis 8:15 PM ET
The St. Louis Cardinals endured a brutal weekend in Milwaukee and will limp back home for a four-game set with the Philadelphia Phillies, beginning Monday. "We don't play the game to avoid injury," St. Louis manager Mike Matheny told reporters Sunday. "Guys go hard and injuries happen in this game."
Colorado at Arizona 9:40 PM ET
The Arizona Diamondbacks look for better offensive production when they begin a three-game series against the visiting Colorado Rockies on Monday. Arizona is coming off a three-game sweep at the hands of Pittsburgh in which it scored a total of two runs.
Houston at San Diego 10:10 PM ET
Rarely in the last decade have the Houston Astros been playing as well as they are heading into Monday's series opener against the host San Diego Padres. The Astros have won seven of eight and sit 2 1/2 games ahead of the second-place Los Angeles Angels in the American League West standings.
San Francisco at LA Dodgers 10:10 PM ET
Dodger fans who have been clamoring for Alex Guerrero to receive regular playing time should get their wish starting Monday, when Los Angeles begins a three-game series against the visiting San Francisco Giants. The Dodgers lost three straight in San Francisco last week before winning two of three in San Diego over the weekend.
