Preview Roundups
April 16, 2015
Kansas City at Minnesota 1:10 PM ET
With their unblemished record and hold on first place in the American League Central now history, the Kansas City Royals look to capture the rubber match of their three-game series at the Minnesota Twins on Thursday afternoon. Kansas City's potent offense, which averaged more than seven runs during its 7-0 start, was held under four for the first time in Wednesday's 3-1 setback.
Milwaukee at St. Louis 1:45 PM ET
The Milwaukee Brewers have enough problems beating the St. Louis Cardinals, and the task will be even tougher in Thursday's series finale without their leadoff hitter and center fielder. Carlos Gomez injured his hamstring in the ninth inning of Wednesday's 4-2 loss to the Cardinals and will be unavailable for the rubber game in St. Louis.
Philadelphia at Washington 7:05 PM ET
Expected to be the dominant force in the National League East, the Washington Nationals have yet to win back-to-back games this season. The Nationals can achieve that feat Thursday when they open a four-game home series against the Philadelphia Phillies.
Tampa Bay at Toronto 7:07 PM ET
The Toronto Blue Jays look to build off an impressive offensive display when they host the Tampa Bay Rays in the finale of a four-game set on Thursday. Star slugger Jose Bautista, who was 0-for-4 in his previous two games, notched his first hit of the series - a two-run shot in the first inning - as the dormant Blue Jay bats exploded for 13 hits in the 12-7 win Wednesday.
Miami at NY Mets 7:10 PM ET
Even the loss of their decorated captain to injury wasn’t enough to keep the New York Mets from sweeping their first three-game home series of the year. The Mets look to continue their best start to a season since 2012 on Thursday when they host the Miami Marlins in the opener of a four-game set.
Arizona at San Francisco 10:15 PM ET
Offense has been in short supply lately for the San Francisco Giants, who will attempt to end a six-game losing streak Thursday when they host the Arizona Diamondbacks in the opener of a four-game series. The Giants totaled 16 runs while taking two of three in their season-opening series against Arizona, but have scored 10 – and no more than two in six of the seven games – since while matching their longest skid in April since 2009.
