Preview Roundups
April 14, 2015
Washington at Boston 6:10 PM ET
The Washington Nationals were supposed to have the best starting pitching in baseball while the rebuilt Boston Red Sox rotation was a question mark coming into the season. The situation was reversed in the series opener and the Nationals will try to regain the upper hand when they visit the Red Sox for the second of a three-game series on Tuesday.
NY Yankees at Baltimore 7:05 PM ET
After seeing their offense limp out of the gate, the New York Yankees have gone deep three times in back-to-back contests to share the majo league lead in homers (12) with the Baltimore Orioles. The visiting Yankees look to continue to flex their muscle and vie for a third straight victory when they continue their three-game series versus their AL East rival on Tuesday.
Detroit at Pittsburgh 7:05 PM ET
Pittsburgh became the first team to finally shut down the vaunted Detroit attack. The Pirates look to follow up a rousing victory in their home opener over the Tigers when the teams tangle Tuesday in the second of three straight games.
Tampa Bay at Toronto 7:07 PM ET
The Tampa Bay Rays have four of their projected top six starting pitchers on the disabled list and they are still getting the job done on the mound in the early going. Matt Andriese makes his first major league start as the Rays try for their fifth win in six games when they visit the Toronto Blue Jays on Tuesday in the second of a four-game set.
Chi. White Sox at Cleveland 7:10 PM ET
The Cleveland Indians must battle through some early-season adversity and show their depth as they host the Chicago White Sox on Tuesday night to open a two-game set. Nick Swisher is still recovering from knee surgery, catcher Yan Gomes is lost for 6-8 weeks with a knee sprain and 2014 All Star Michael Brantley is questionable for the Indians due to a back injury.
Miami at Atlanta 7:10 PM ET
Alberto Callaspo and Cody Martin are not household names, but the two are driving factors behind the Atlanta Braves’ stunning start. The rebuilt Braves aim for their seventh victory in eight contests when they host the struggling Miami Marlins on Tuesday, one day after Callaspo extended his hitting streak to six games and Martin fired two more innings of scoreless relief in Atlanta's 3-2 victory over Miami.
Philadelphia at NY Mets 7:10 PM ET
Matt Harvey starts at Citi Field for the first time in 598 days when the New York Mets continue their home series with the Philadelphia Phillies on Tuesday. Harvey enjoyed a breakout season in 2013 before undergoing Tommy John surgery, forcing the 26-year-old to wait nearly two years to pitch again in front of the hometown fans.
LA Angels at Texas 8:05 PM ET
No matter how things are going for the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, they always can look forward to their visits to Texas. The Angels look to make it two straight against the Rangers and continue their recent dominance in the series when the teams play the second of their three games at Arlington on Tuesday.
Cincinnati at Chi. Cubs 8:05 PM ET

The optimism surrounding the Chicago Cubs is rising thanks to back-to-back comeback victories in their last at-bat. The Cubs are alone atop the National League Central for the first time since July 30, 2009, and will aim for a fourth straight victory when they face the visiting Cincinnati Reds in the second game of a three-game series Tuesday.

Oakland at Houston 8:10 PM ET
The Oakland Athletics attempt to continue their recent dominance of the Houston Astros when the American League West rivals continue their three-game series at Minute Maid Park on Tuesday. Oakland opened the set with a convincing 8-1 triumph Monday, touching Scott Feldman for three runs in the first inning and one in the second before chasing the veteran with a four-run fifth.
Seattle at LA Dodgers 10:10 PM ET
The Los Angeles Dodgers pulled out a 10-inning victory in the opener of a three-game set and attempt to defeat the Seattle Mariners for the second straight night on Tuesday. Los Angeles pushed across the decisive run on Alex Guerrero’s first career walk-off hit to move a game above. 500.
Arizona at San Diego 10:10 PM ET
Ender Inciarte may have entered the season ticketed for a part-time role, but his red-hot bat has made him a virtual fixture in the Arizona Diamondbacks’ lineup through eight games. With the 24-year-old Venezuelan sparking the offense near the top of the order, the Diamondbacks eye their fourth win in five contests on Tuesday as they continue a three-game set at the San Diego Padres.
Colorado at San Francisco 10:15 PM ET
Hunter Pence can’t return soon enough for the San Francisco Giants, who have lost four straight heading into Tuesday’s matchup against the visiting Colorado Rockies. The Giants left 12 runners on base in Monday’s 2-0 series-opening loss without Pence, who suffered a broken arm early in spring training and is not expected back before the end of the month.
