Preview Roundups
April 10, 2015
Toronto at Baltimore 3:05 PM ET

The Baltimore Orioles hope a homecoming will rekindle their offense, because they'll need to score some runs with the hot-hitting Toronto Blue Jays visiting for a three-game series starting Friday. The Orioles took two of three from Tampa Bay to start the season but were held scoreless over the final 16 innings of the series after scoring 12 runs in the first 11 frames.

Houston at Texas 4:05 PM ET
The Houston Astros' offense is already searching for answers following their season-opening series as they managed a total of three runs in three games against the Cleveland Indians and nearly got no-hit Thursday. The Astros will try to put that series behind them Friday when they visit the Texas Rangers in the opener of a three-game set.
Minnesota at Chi. White Sox 4:10 PM ET

Someone will taste victory for the first time in 2015 when the Chicago White Sox host the Minnesota Twins in the opener of a three-game series Friday. The White Sox were swept in a three-game set in Kansas City to start the season while the Twins were outscored 22-1 in three losses in Detroit.

Detroit at Cleveland 4:10 PM ET
Alfredo Simon returns to the American League with much more fanfare than when he left three years ago, making his Detroit debut as the Tigers open a three-game series Friday at Cleveland. Simon earned an All-Star berth with the Reds last season, winning 15 games after posting just 17 victories in his first six seasons – including the first four spent with Baltimore.
Chi. Cubs at Colorado 4:10 PM ET
The Colorado Rockies look to start off the season with four straight wins for the first time since 1995 when they welcome the Chicago Cubs in their home opener on Friday. Wilin Rosario smacked a solo homer in the 10th inning Wednesday to propel the Rockies to a 5-4 victory over the Milwaukee Brewers and earn a sweep in the series.
Boston at NY Yankees 7:05 PM ET
A pair of newcomers will be on the mound Friday when the Boston Red Sox visit the New York Yankees for the first of three games to renew their rivalry. Red Sox left-hander Wade Miley makes his team debut after coming over from Arizona in a December trade, while hard-throwing Nathan Eovaldi toes the rubber for the Yankees, who limp into the set after dropping two of three to Toronto to begin the season.
Washington at Philadelphia 7:05 PM ET
The Washington Nationals scored six runs in their first series of the season and will look to snap out of an early offensive funk Friday when they open a three-game road series against the Philadelphia Phillies. The Nationals lost two of three to the New York Mets and scored their only three runs Thursday once the game had essentially been decided.
Tampa Bay at Miami 7:10 PM ET
The first series of the season turned into a major disappointment and the Miami Marlins look to change their course when they host the Tampa Bay Rays on Friday to start a three-game set. The Marlins were outscored 16-3 while getting swept by Atlanta in three games at home to open the campaign and the Rays avoided the same fate by beating Baltimore 2-0 on Wednesday.
St. Louis at Cincinnati 7:10 PM ET
The Cincinnati Reds look for their first 4-0 start since 2011 when they host the St. Louis Cardinals in the opener of a three-game set on Friday night. The Reds earned a 3-2 walk-off win over the Pittsburgh Pirates on Thursday to complete an impressive sweep in a series that featured rain delays in all three games totalling four hours, 23 minutes.
NY Mets at Atlanta 7:35 PM ET
The New York Mets started their season with a bang, taking two of three at National League East favorite Washington. Next up for the Mets is a three-game set against the division’s only unbeaten team starting Friday, when New York travels to Atlanta to face a rebuilt Braves squad that is 3-0 after a surprising sweep of Miami.
Pittsburgh at Milwaukee 8:10 PM ET
Two of the three remaining winless teams in the National League meet Friday when the Pittsburgh Pirates open a three-game series against the host Milwaukee Brewers. The Pirates are 0-3 for the first time since 2006 after being swept by Cincinnati, while Milwaukee was outscored 20-6 in three losses to Colorado.
LA Dodgers at Arizona 9:40 PM ET
Adrian Gonzalez has accomplished quite a bit during his remarkable career, yet the way he has opened this season makes his four All-Star Game appearances and four Gold Gloves look small by comparison. After becoming the first player in major-league history to hit five home runs through his team's first three games, Gonzalez and the Los Angeles Dodgers hit the road on Friday looking to victimize the team he enjoyed facing more than any other last year in the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Kansas City at LA Angels 10:05 PM ET
The Kansas City Royals pulled off a three-game sweep of the heavily favored Angels in an American League Division Series last season en route to winning the AL pennant, but that is a distant memory in the Los Angeles clubhouse. "It's just another baseball game,'' catcher Chris Iannetta told reporters about Friday's home opener against Kansas City. "We turned the page a long time ago. It'll just be another team that we play."
Seattle at Oakland 10:05 PM ET
The Seattle Mariners were reminded last season just how important every game is, which was the margin between sitting at home for the postseason and watching the Oakland Athletics claim the American League’s second wild-card spot. The two AL West rivals square off for the first time in 2015 on Friday when the Athletics continue their season-opening seven-game homestand with the first of three against the Mariners.
San Francisco at San Diego 10:10 PM ET
Even when Tim Lincecum has struggled over the past three seasons, he’s still managed to dominate the San Diego Padres. The two-time Cy Young winner will look to continue his mastery Friday against the new-look Padres, who have dropped three of their first four games.
