Sean Murphy belted a solo homer, drove in two runs and scored three times to highlight his four-hit performance, powering the visiting Atlanta Braves to an 8-1 victory over the Cleveland Guardians on Wednesday.

Austin Riley homered to lead off the seventh inning and Matt Olson did the same in the ninth to cap his three-hit night. Eddie Rosario had a two-run double and Olson and Murphy each drove in a run as part of a four-run first inning for the Braves, who banged out 19 hits en route to posting their 18th win in their last 20 games.

Michael Soroka scattered five hits over 4 2/3 scoreless innings before Michael Tonkin (5-2) induced David Fry to ground out to end the fifth. Tonkin struck out three batters and allowed one hit in 3 1/3 scoreless innings before Ben Heller worked around Steven Kwan scoring on a groundout in the ninth to seal the win.

Olson's one-out single to right field plated Ozzie Albies to open the scoring in the first inning. Murphy followed with an RBI single to left field before Rosario's two-out double to right-center field plated both Murphy and Olson to give Atlanta a 4-0 lead.

Cleveland threatened to cut into the deficit after putting runners on second and third with no outs in the second inning. But Soroka struck out Bo Naylor and Myles Straw before Kwan's grounder up the middle was snared by All-Star shortstop Orlando Arcia, who spun and threw a dart to first base to end the inning.

Murphy tacked on another run in the third inning by depositing a 2-2 changeup from Cal Quantrill (2-6) over the wall in left field. Murphy's homer was his 15th of the season and third in six games. It also represented the 23rd straight game in which a Braves batter has gone deep.

Quantrill absorbed his fourth straight loss after yielding five runs on 11 hits in 4 1/3 innings.

Riley led off the seventh inning by sending an 0-1 fastball from Tim Herrin over the wall in right field. Riley's homer was his 16th of the season and third in his last eight games.

Olson deposited a 2-1 sinker from Sam Hentges over the wall in right field to lead off the ninth inning. Olson's homer was his National League-leading 29th of the season.
