Matt Beaty hit a two-run double in the fifth inning and four Los Angeles Dodgers relievers combined to give up one run over the final 4 1/3 innings in a 4-3 victory over the visiting Pittsburgh Pirates on Tuesday.

AJ Pollock had a two-run single for the Dodgers, who won for the ninth time in their last 10 games despite two throwing errors from Gavin Lux in his first career appearance at third base.

Wil Crowe gave up two runs on five hits over four innings for the Pirates, who lost for the 14th time in their past 16 games. Pittsburgh also lost its 15th consecutive game against the Dodgers and their 11th consecutive at Los Angeles, going back to 2017.

The Dodgers broke a 2-all tie in the fifth inning after Corey Seager led off with a double and Pollock walked with two outs. Beaty hit a 2-2 curveball from Pirates right-hander Cody Ponce (0-3) just inside the first base bag and down the right field to score both runners.

The Dodgers put two runners on base in each of the first two innings before finally breaking through in the third against Crowe.

Seager led off the third with a double but only could advance to third base on Cody Bellinger's bloop double to left-center. Pollock followed with his own bloop to left-center, scoring both Seager and Bellinger for a 2-0 advantage.

The Pirates opened the fourth inning with Ke'Bryan Hayes' single and Bryan Reynolds' RBI double to left-center. Reynolds moved to third on a flyout and scored on a ground ball to third base by Jacob Stallings when Lux's throw home was wild. Lux also overthrew first base in the fifth inning.

Justin Turner took over for Lux at third base in the seventh inning on a double switch after he pinch-hit in the pitcher's spot in the sixth inning.

Dodgers starter David Price gave up two runs and three hits over 4 2/3 innings, while Corey Knebel (2-0), Phil Bickford and Blake Treinen had scoreless outings. Dodgers closer Kenley Jansen gave up an RBI single to Colin Moran in the ninth but still finished off his 25th save. It is the ninth time in his career he has recorded at least 25 saves.
