Yadier Molina, Paul Goldschmidt and Kolten Wong drove in two runs each as the St. Louis Cardinals beat the visiting Cincinnati Reds 10-6 on Saturday in the first game of their doubleheader.

Dakota Hudson (14-6) won his fourth consecutive start, and the Cardinals earned their 16th victory in their last 20 games.

Hudson allowed four runs in 7 2/3 innings -- the only runs he has allowed in 26 1/3 innings during his streak.

Losing pitcher Trevor Bauer (10-12) allowed six runs in four innings as the Reds fell for the fifth time in their last eight games.

Bauer has allowed 14 runs (13 earned) in seven innings in his last two starts.

The Reds started the long day of baseball with Eugenio Suarez's 39th homer, a two-run blast in the first inning.

The Cardinals answered with four runs in their half of the inning on Goldschmidt's RBI single, run-scoring doubles by Paul DeJong and Molina and an error by Reds left fielder Josh VanMeter mixed in.

Fowler's solo homer in the second inning made it 5-2, and Molina's solo shot in the third made it 6-2.

Molina has hit safely in seven consecutive games. He is 14 for 28 with two doubles, four homers and nine RBIs during that streak.

Reds reliever R.J. Alaniz handed the Cardinals their seventh run with a sixth-inning balk to score a runner from third. Goldschmidt's RBI single in the seventh made it 8-2.

The Reds cut the lead to 8-6 in the eighth inning on Aristides Aquino's RBI single off reliever John Brebbia and Tucker Barnhart's three-run double off reliever Giovanny Gallegos.

But Wong's two-run double off reliever Lucas Sims in the bottom of the inning gave the Cardinals their 10-6 margin.

Reds outfielder Nick Senzel was held out of the first game's starting lineup due to illness, but he came off the bench as a pinch-hitter.

The Reds added reliever Sal Romano to the roster as the 26th player for this game. The Cardinals recalled pitcher Genesis Cabrera as their 26th player for this doubleheader.
