Rangers 3, Athletics 0: Martin Perez pitched his second consecutive three-hit shutout - extending his scoreless innings streak to 26 - as visiting Texas completed a three-game sweep over Oakland.

Perez (4-0), who also blanked the Chicago White Sox on Friday, struck out three and walked two while throwing 109 pitches for his third career complete game. Donnie Murphy homered while Alex Rios and Michael Choice also knocked in runs as the Rangers won for the eighth time in nine games.

Josh Donaldson doubled with one out and Derek Norris walked after two were down in the seventh inning for the Athletics before Perez got Alberto Callaspo to ground into a force to end the threat. Oakland starter Sonny Gray (3-1) yielded three runs on five hits and four walks while striking out eight over seven frames.

Choice walked to lead off the game and scored on a one-out triple left-center field by Rios, who was later thrown out at the plate after Prince Fielder’s grounder. Leonys Martin reached on an infield single and was sacrificed to second by Josh Wilson before Choice singled to center for a 2-0 lead in the fifth.

Jed Lowrie and Norris reached to lead off the fourth and fifth innings, respectively, for the Athletics and were erased immediately by double plays. Murphy extended the lead to 3-0 in the sixth when he hammered a 3-1 pitch by Gray over the right-field wall with two outs.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Murphy was 4-for-11 and knocked in three in the series after coming in with four RBIs on the season. … Texas OF Shin-Soo Choo (left ankle sprain) and 3B Kevin Kouzmanoff (back stiffness) were held out of the lineup. … Oakland starts a four-game series at Houston on Thursday and the Rangers, who are 8-2 against American League-West opponents, begin a three-game set at Seattle on Friday.
