Astros 6, Braves 1:
Matt Dominguez hit a three-run homer and Jarred Cosart pitched seven solid innings as Houston salvaged the finale of a three-game series against visiting Atlanta.

George Springer homered and Jose Altuve had two hits and scored twice as the Astros snapped a four-game losing streak. Jesus Guzman and Jon Singleton also had RBIs as Houston won for only the second time in 10 games.

Cosart (8-5) allowed one run and six hits while winning his fourth consecutive decision. Josh Zeid recorded two outs, Tony Sipp worked one inning and Jose Veras struck out the final hitter.

Atlanta jumped ahead on Tommy La Stella’s sacrifice fly in the first inning before Houston tied it in the bottom of the frame on Singleton’s double. Dominguez was hit by a pitch from Mike Minor (2-5) in the fourth and eventually scored on Guzman’s infield out to put the Astros ahead.

Altuve and Springer were aboard in the fifth when Dominguez went deep for the 11th time this season to make it 5-1. Springer added his 15th blast of the season in the seventh.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Atlanta 1B Freddie Freeman (triceps) went 1-for-4 one day after exiting a game after being hit by a pitch. … Houston recalled Veras from Triple-A Oklahoma City prior to the contest and outrighted RHP Kyle Farnsworth to the same club. … Minor allowed five runs and seven hits in six innings and drops to 0-3 during a seven-start winless stretch.
