Blue Jays 2, Rockies 0: Maicer Izturis hit a two-run bloop single in the eighth inning as Toronto shaded visiting Colorado to stretch its winning streak to six games.

After a sensational seven-inning duel between Colorado starter Jorge De La Rosa and Toronto counterpart Josh Johnson, the Blue Jays finally converted against reliever Matt Belisle (4-4). With Rajai Davis and Colby Rasmus aboard, Izturis golfed a single to shallow right field for the only runs of the night.

Brett Cecil (3-0) recorded two outs to earn the win while Casey Janssen worked the ninth to lock up his 15th save. The six-game run is Toronto's longest since May 10-16, 2011.

Colorado's best opportunity to score came in its half of the eighth. A single, a walk and a sacrifice ended Johnson's night, but Cecil got Carlos Gonzalez to line out to first base and forced Todd Helton to ground out after intentionally walking Michael Cuddyer to load the bases.

De La Rosa allowed only Izturis' sixth-inning single while walking three and fanning four. Johnson scattered five hits over 7 1/3 sensational innings, walking two and striking out a season-high 10.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Johnson's last double-digit strikeout performance came Sept. 4, 2010 against the Atlanta Braves. The free-agent-to-be left to a standing ovation from the Rogers Centre crowd of 20,946. ... Toronto starters have allowed two earned runs in 34 innings over the last five games. The Blue Jays entered the night with a 2.21 ERA in June, second-best in the majors over that span. ... Cecil has not allowed a hit in his last 10 2/3 innings of work.
