Red Sox 6, Twins 5 (11):
Stephen Drew capped a four-hit night with a walk-off double off the left-field wall as Boston outlasted Minnesota and snapped a three-game slide.

Jarrod Saltalamacchia kept the 11th inning alive with an infield hit off Jared Burton (0-1) and Will Middlebrooks followed with a single before Drew sent a drive the opposite way that got between left fielder Ryan Doumit and center fielder Wilkin Ramirez to the base of the wall.

Clayton Mortensen (1-2) worked 2 1/3 scoreless innings of relief to earn the win after Joel Hanrahan surrendered a game-tying solo home run to Brian Dozier in the ninth. Dustin Pedroia gave the Red Sox a 5-4 lead with a solo shot over the Green Monster in the eighth and Drew and Shane Victorino each added solo blasts.

Justin Morneau drove in two runs while Josh Willingham and Aaron Hicks each provided an RBI double for the Twins, who held leads of 3-0 and 4-1 early in the game. Minnesota sent eight men to the plate in a two-run first inning against Clay Buchholz and added single runs in the fourth and fifth.

Victorino’s homer got Boston on the board in the fourth and Drew and Mike Napoli each recorded an RBI single to chop it to 4-3. Drew, who had been called out at the plate to end a rally in the fifth ripped a 3-1 pitch from Casey Fien out to right in the seventh to tie it at 4.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Red Sox DH David Ortiz extended his hitting streak to 26 games with a double into the right-field corner in the eighth. … Boston placed RHP Andrew Bailey (biceps) on the 15-day DL and activated Craig Breslow. Hanrahan left in the ninth with tightness in his right forearm. … Twins starter Vance Worley was charged with three runs in five innings while Buchholz, who was accused of throwing spitballs in his last start, surrendered a season-high four runs while striking out nine in six innings.
