Red Sox 2, Rays 1 (10): Shane Victorino had two hits, including an infield single that plated Jacoby Ellsbury with the winning run in the 10th inning, as Boston edged visiting Tampa Bay.

Ellsbury singled with one out, stole second and moved to third on catcher Jose Lobaton’s wild throw before Victorino’s heroics. Junichi Tazawa (2-0) pitched a scoreless 10th for the win.

Reigning American League Cy Young winner David Price allowed four hits and one run while striking out eight over the first six innings for Tampa Bay. Reliever Brandon Gomes (0-1) took the loss and Jose Molina had a pair of hits for the Rays.

Desmond Jennings singled to begin the third inning for Tampa Bay and scored on a double into the left-field corner by Sean Rodriguez for a 1-0 lead. David Ross tied it in the fifth for the Red Sox with his second home run in his fifth career at-bat against Price, a solo blast to left field.

Boston starter Jon Lester retired 12 straight batters until Yunel Escobar singled to start the seventh for Tampa Bay, but he was quickly erased on a double play. Lester struck out five in seven innings, giving up five hits and one run.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Boston closer Joel Hanrahan, who allowed five runs in his last outing, walked the first two batters he faced in the ninth and was replaced by Koji Uehara.
