Eduardo Escobar hit a pair of home runs and Jose Berrios cooled off the Cleveland Indians' red-hot bats as the host Minnesota Twins snapped a three-game losing streak with a 7-4 win over the first-place Tribe on Friday at Target Field.

Escobar ignited the Twins with a three-run home run in the first inning and added an insurance solo blast in the seventh inning. He has 10 on the season.

Indians starter Carlos Carrasco (6-4) didn't make it out of the fourth inning. He surrendered six runs on seven hits, including three doubles and a home run, with three walks and two strikeouts. The Indians have lost four of Carrasco's last six starts.

While Carrasco left early, Berrios (6-5) lasted six innings, surrendering four runs on five hits with seven strikeouts and one walk in his fourth straight strong start.

The Indians had scored seven or more runs in each game of their six-game win streak, which ended Friday.

Cleveland got on the board with two runs in the third inning, but Ryan LaMarre and Miguel Sano each drove in runs for the Twins with doubles in the fourth inning as their lead grew to 6-2.

Cleveland third baseman Jose Ramirez, who has been hot at the plate, hit his 18th double of the season to jumpstart an Indians rally in the sixth inning. Edwin Encarnacion followed with a two-run home run off Berrios, cutting the Twins' lead to 6-4.

Berrios regrouped and got Yonder Alonso and Melky Cabrera to each ground out to end the inning.

Escobar answered in the seventh with a homer off Indians reliever Josh Tomlin.

Trevor Hildenberger, Zach Duke and Fernando Rodney combined to throw three scoreless innings. Rodney set the Tribe down in order in the ninth inning for his 12th save.

The Indians will send Trevor Bauer to the mound Saturday. The Twins will counter with Lance Lynn.
