SAN FRANCISCO -- Right-hander Josh Collmenter pitched a four-hit shutout and helped his own cause with three of Arizona's 18 hits as the Diamondbacks handed the San Francisco Giants an eighth consecutive defeat Friday night, 9-0.

Third baseman Jake Lamb belted a two-run triple and center fielder A.J. Pollock had four hits as the Diamondbacks added to the Giants' winless homestand and worst start in their West Coast history.

The win was Arizona's second in a row to open the four-game series and its third in five games so far on the club's seven-game trip.

Facing a Giants team that began the day leading the majors in stranded baserunners, Collmenter (1-2) allowed only five Giants to get on base, one of which was eliminated on a double play.

Avenging a 5-4 home loss to the Giants on Opening Day, Collmenter walked one and struck out two. He retired 15 in a row at one point and allowed only one Giant to reach second base.

Collmenter went 3-of-5 at the plate, driving in one run and scoring another. The three-hit game was a career first.

Left fielder David Peralta also had three hits, including a pair of doubles, for Arizona (6-5). His first double and sacrifice fly each produced a run.

Center fielder Ender Inciarte and third baseman Chris Owings contributed two hits apiece to the Arizona assault.

Right-hander Jake Peavy (0-2) was the starter and loser for the Giants (3-9), whose eight-game losing streak is their longest since 2007.

The Giants reached the midpoint of their first homestand -- a 10-gamer -- at 0-5.

Second baseman Joe Panik had two of San Francisco's four hits, including a ninth-inning double.

Peavy failed to pitch into the fifth inning for the second consecutive time after having missed his first scheduled start with a stiff back.

He was raked for eight hits and four runs in 3 2/3 innings. All of the runs and seven of the hits came in the third and fourth innings, during which Arizona built a 4-0 lead.

Peavy walked one and struck out two.

The big hit off the veteran was Lamb's triple in Arizona's three-run third. It came when the Giants were one strike away from getting out of the inning down just 1-0.

But on full count with two on and two out, Lamb bombed a shot to the base of the 421-foot marker in right-center field, scoring Pollock and first baseman Paul Goldschmidt.

NOTES: Arizona's starter Friday night, RHP Josh Collmenter, warmed up in the bullpen in the 12th inning of Thursday's 7-6 win. Diamondbacks pitchers Patrick Corbin and David Hernandez, both rehabbing from Tommy John surgeries, were scheduled for their second bullpen sessions of the week on Friday night in Scottsdale, Ariz. ... The Giants will receive their championship rings in a ceremony before Saturday's game. ... Giants 1B/OF Travis Ishikawa (strained lower back) returned from an injury-rehab assignment with Triple-A Sacramento so he can get his ring with his 2014 teammates. ... Giants reliever Erik Cordier (strained right forearm) pitched a scoreless inning for Class A San Jose in his first injury-rehab appearance Thursday night. ... The Giants entered Friday's game leading the majors in two categories: losses (eight) and runners left on base (88).
