Rays 2, Blue Jays 1 (10): Evan Longoria singled home the go-ahead run in the top of the 10th inning for his second RBI and visiting Tampa Bay held on to take two of three in the series.

Kevin Kiermaier and Yunel Escobar collected two hits apiece for the Rays, who have won eight of their last 11 games away from home. Jake McGee (4-1) pitched two scoreless innings for the win and Brad Boxberger put the first two batters on with infield hits in the 10th before retiring the last three for his second save.

Dioner Navarro recorded a pair of hits while Juan Francisco had a double, a single and an RBI for the Blue Jays, who fell 5 1/2 games back in the race for the American League’s second wild card. Sergio Santos (0-3), just recalled from Triple-A Buffalo, allowed one run on two hits in the 10th to take the loss.

Ben Zobrist walked to lead off the 10th and moved to third when Logan Forsythe’s fly ball eluded right fielder Nolan Reimold near the line for a ground-rule double. Longoria singled between shortstop and third base to score Zobrist and Forsythe was thrown out at the plate.

Longoria hustled to avoid a double play to allow the first run to score in the opening inning after Zobrist doubled with one out and moved to third on a wild pitch. Navarro singled with one out in the seventh, moved to third on a Colby Rasmus base hit and scored the tying run on Francisco’s sacrifice fly to the right-field warning track.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Tampa Bay has won nine of its last 10 series on the road and is the only team in the majors with a winning record on the road (35-30) and a losing mark at home (29-36). … Toronto RF Jose Bautista went 0-for-3 and was ejected in the sixth inning by home-plate umpire Bill Welke after arguing a called third strike. Bautista has not reached base in three straight games for the first time since April 9-11, 2012. … Toronto starter RHP Drew Hutchison permitted just one run on six hits while fanning seven in six innings, and Tampa Bay’s Chris Archer gave up one run on six hits in seven frames with six strikeouts.
