Mariners 2, Blue Jays 0: Kendrys Morales homered in the first inning and Hisashi Iwakuma teamed with four relievers to make it stand as host Seattle completed a three-game sweep.

Morales and Chris Denorfia each recorded two hits for the Mariners, who remained even with Detroit for the second wild-card spot in the American League. Iwakuma (11-6) allowed five hits and a walk in 6 2/3 innings, ending his streak of seven consecutive starts with at least seven frames pitched, and Fernando Rodney worked around a single in the ninth for his 35th save.

Jose Reyes and Adam Lind registered two hits apiece for the Blue Jays, who fell three games behind Seattle and Detroit. R.A. Dickey (9-12) yielded two runs and seven hits while walking four over six innings as he fell to 3-9 on the road this season.

Austin Jackson led off the first with a single before Dickey retired the next two batters on fly balls. Morales deposited a 1-2 knuckleball over the wall in right field for his third blast of the year.

Toronto wasted a two-out double by Reyes in the third and stranded runners at second and third an inning later as Munenori Kawasaki struck out to end the frame. The Blue Jays put two on in the seventh without the benefit of a hit, but Danny Farquhar fanned Reyes to escape unscathed.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Seattle 1B Logan Morrison went 0-for-3, ending his career high-tying 13-game hitting streak. ... The Blue Jays fell to 0-6 away from home this month and 0-3 on their eight-game road trip, while the Mariners moved 10 games above .500 for the first time this season. ... Dickey has worked at least six innings in each of his last 12 starts.
