Rangers 3, Yankees 2:
Colby Lewis worked a season-high seven innings to record his first home victory since April 19 as Texas won the rubber match of the three-game series.

Adrian Beltre had an RBI single among his two hits as the Rangers exacted a bit of revenge after losing three of four in New York last week. Elvis Andrus ripped a run-scoring double and Leonys Martin added an RBI single to highlight the three-run first inning.

Brett Gardner led off the contest with his fourth homer in three games and Jacoby Ellsbury also went deep for the Yankees, who did not record another hit after Carlos Beltran's second single of the night in the third inning. Hiroki Kuroda (7-7) needed 33 pitches to escape the first and permitted three runs on nine hits in seven innings to take the loss.

Lewis (7-8) allowed two runs on four hits and retired the last 13 batters he faced before leaving after a season-high 106 pitches. Neal Cotts retired the side in order in the eighth and Neftali Feliz did the same in the ninth for his third save.

Texas answered Gardner's 14th homer in the bottom of the first inning as Andrus ripped a double to left off Kuroda before Beltre added an RBI single to center. Martin gave the Rangers a 3-1 lead with a soft liner to left to plate Beltre.
