Nationals 4, Mets 1: Bryce Harper and Adam LaRoche each belted a two-run homer and Stephen Strasburg scattered three hits over seven innings as Washington set a franchise record with its 11th consecutive road victory at Citi Field.

Ian Desmond collected two hits and scored a run for the Nationals, who have won 25 of 29 in Queens and surpassed the then-Montreal Expos' run of 10 straight victories at the Chicago Cubs in 1982-83. Back to the present, Washington moved six games ahead of second-place Atlanta in the National League East.

Lucas Duda had a sacrifice fly in the fourth inning for the Mets, who have dropped four of five overall and five straight at home. David Wright slapped a two-out single in the first inning to extend his hitting streak to 13 games.

After belting five homers in the first two games of the series, the Nationals didn't wait long to flex their muscles in the finale. LaRoche deposited an 0-2 fastball from Dillon Gee (4-5) over the wall in left-center field in the first inning and Harper doubled the advantage in the fourth with a towering shot over the wall in right for his sixth blast - and second of the series.

The offense was more than enough for Strasburg (9-10), who posted his first road victory since June 9. The fireballer allowed one run and struck out eight, Tyler Clippard fanned two in the eighth and Rafael Soriano retired the side in the ninth for his 28th save.

The Nationals begin a 10-game homestand when they open a three-game series versus Pittsburgh on Friday.
