Mets 5, Phillies 3: Anthony Recker capped a four-run seventh inning with a three-run homer as visiting New York took three of four from Philadelphia.

Jon Niese (6-8) snapped a four-start losing streak, allowing two runs on five hits and three walks over seven innings while Jeurys Familia got the final four outs and worked around Chase Utley’s two-out pinch-hit RBI double in the ninth inning to notch his third save. David Wright and Matt den Dekker drove in a run apiece for the Mets, who have won 10 of their last 13 meetings against the Phillies.

Darin Ruf clubbed a two-run homer for Philadelphia, which has been outscored by New York 76-43 while dropping 12 of its last 14 home games against its National League East rival. Rookie David Buchanan (6-6) lost for the first time in three outings, yielding three runs on four hits in six frames.

Daniel Murphy doubled to lead off the fourth for the Mets’ first hit off Buchanan and Wright followed by ripping a single up the middle to plate the game’s first run. Niese promptly gave up the lead in the bottom half, walking Carlos Ruiz with one out before Darin Ruf hammered a 2-0 fastball to straightaway center for his first homer since May 27.

Following a leadoff walk to Juan Lagares to open the seventh, den Dekker evened it at 2-2 with a double to the gap in right-center to end Buchanan’s outing. Justin De Fratus could not stop the rally, however, as Wilmer Flores singled on his first pitch and Recker ended an eight-pitch at-bat by sending a hanging slider deep into the left-field seats for his first hit since July 13.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Utley’s double was initially ruled a homer, but the call was overturned when the umpires ruled that a fan in right field used his cap to reach over the fence and catch the ball. … New York improved to 8-2 on the road against the Phillies this season, matching the most wins it has recorded in Philadelphia since 1972. … Murphy, who finished 2-for-4 and posted his 43rd multi-hit game, has a NL-high 147 hits – eight more than San Francisco’s Hunter Pence.
