Mets 5, Phillies 4: Bartolo Colon outdueled A.J. Burnett for the second time in less than two weeks to earn his 200th career win as New York held off host Philadelphia.

Travis d’Arnaud homered among two hits while Curtis Granderson, Wilmer Flores and Daniel Murphy also added two hits and an RBI apiece as the Mets won for the second time in six games. Colon (11-9) allowed one run and six hits in eight innings before Dana Eveland and Jenrry Mejia combined to make things interesting in the ninth

Burnett, who surrendered seven runs in five innings while going up against Colon on July 28, was reached for five runs and 11 hits while striking out eight in six frames to suffer his fourth straight loss. Marlon Byrd hit his 22nd home run while Grady Sizemore doubled in a pair of runs in the ninth and Cody Asche added an RBI groundout before Mejia got the final out with the tying run on third to pick up his 17th save.

Burnett (6-12) got out of a bases-loaded jam in the third inning but could not keep New York from opening the fourth with four straight hits to take the lead. Juan Lagares ripped a double into the gap in left-center field to plate the first run while Flores, Granderson and Murphy each added an RBI single in the four-run frame.

D’Arnaud came up with one out in the fifth and crushed a 1-1 changeup into the bleachers in left for his eighth homer and a 5-0 cushion. Byrd finally got Philadelphia on the board in the seventh with a leadoff shot down the left-field line, but Colon retired the next six batters in order before Eveland failed to record an out and combined with Mejia to allow three runs in the ninth.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Former Phillies Cy Young Award winner Roy Halladay was in town for the team’s alumni weekend and threw out the ceremonial first pitch, firing a strike to C Carlos Ruiz. … Philadelphia LHP Cole Hamels reportedly was pulled back from waivers after a trade could not be worked out with the Chicago Cubs, who had claimed the veteran. … Murphy has recorded multiple hits in five straight games and has collected eight RBIs in that span.
