Mets 7, Phillies 1: Travis d'Arnaud belted a three-run homer among his three hits and Bartolo Colon yielded one run over 7 2/3 innings as New York opened the three-game home series with a rout of Philadelphia.

All-Star Daniel Murphy and Juan Lagares each collected two hits and combined for three RBIs for the Mets, who have won eight of their last nine home games. Colon (10-8) reached the 10-win mark for the 11th time in his career, scattering 10 hits while striking out six on a season high-tying 121 pitches.

Carlos Ruiz went 4-for-4 and drove in a run while former Met Marlon Byrd singled four times for the Phillies, who posted 13 hits but stranded 12 baserunners en route to losing for the 11th time in their last 14 meetings with New York. A.J. Burnett (6-10) lost to the Mets for the first time since 2005, surrendering seven runs on eight hits over five frames.

New York jumped all over Burnett in the first inning as Murphy followed a leadoff walk to Curtis Granderson with an RBI double into the gap in right-center field. Lucas Duda singled home Murphy two batters later and Lagares capped the four-run frame with a two-out, two-run double down the line in right.

After Burnett retired the first two batters in the fifth, Duda drew a four-pitch walk and Chris Young singled to center ahead of d'Arnaud, who hammered the first pitch he saw into the left-field stands. Colon took his shutout bid into the eighth but gave up back-to-back two-out doubles to Domonic Brown and Ruiz.

GAME NOTEBOOK: In four contests since returning from the concussion disabled list on Wednesday, Ruiz is 8-for-16 with three multi-hit performances. … Phillies All-Star 2B Chase Utley (rest) was left out of the lineup and did not play for only the fifth time this season. … Mets LHP Dana Eveland was pulled from the game in the ninth after a line drive struck the back of his pitching elbow. RHP Vic Black came on and recorded the final two outs.
