Twins 8, Mariners 1:
Kendrys Morales collected three RBIs and Kyle Gibson pitched six scoreless innings as visiting Minnesota routed Seattle.

Chris Colabello went 2-for-4 with two RBIs while Brian Dozier recorded two hits and scored twice as the Twins defeated the Mariners for the second straight night. Kurt Suzuki also had two hits as Minnesota won for just the fifth time in 16 games.

Gibson (8-7) struck out three while scattering seven hits and one walk to beat Seattle for the second time this season. Mariners starter Roenis Elias (7-8) was torched for seven runs - six earned - and seven hits over 3 1/3 innings in losing his third straight start.

Morales stroked a run-scoring double in the first inning to open the scoring and the Twins added four more runs in the second. Colabello ripped a double to right-center to plate two and scored on Sam Fuld’s single before Morales lifted a sacrifice fly to cap the uprising.

Minnesota added three runs in the fourth, with two scoring on a bases-loaded error by Mariners first baseman Logan Morrison and Josh Willingham hitting a sacrifice fly to make it 8-0. Robinson Cano went 3-for-5 with an RBI double in the seventh to assure Seattle wouldn’t be blanked for the second straight game.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Three Mariners registered two hits – LF Endy Chavez, 3B Kyle Seager and RF Michael Saunders. … Fuld, who reached base three times on a hit and two walks, is 13-for-29 this month. … Seattle recalled RHP Stephen Pryor from Triple-A Tacoma and optioned RHP Taijuan Walker to the same club.
