Brewers 10, Padres 1: Ryan Braun went 3-for-4 with a homer before replacement Gerardo Parra drove in three runs as visiting Milwaukee cruised in the opener of the three-game series.

Aramis Ramirez recorded three hits - including a home run - three RBIs and two runs scored while Carlos Gomez also collected three hits for the Brewers, who remained 1 1/2 games ahead of second-place St. Louis in the National League Central. Martin Maldonado, Khris Davis and Rickie Weeks each had an RBI while Kyle Lohse (12-7) allowed one run on four hits and four walks over six innings to halt his three-game losing streak.

Alexi Amarista went 2-for-4 with an RBI while Yangervis Solarte also registered two hits for the Padres, who lost for the fourth time in five games. Eric Stults (6-14) surrendered four runs on nine hits and three walks in five frames as his three-game winning streak came to an end.

Milwaukee snapped a 1-1 tie in the third inning as Braun belted a one-out solo homer and Maldonado delivered a two-out RBI single. Ramirez led off the fifth with his 14th blast to make it 4-1 and the Brewers used a three-run rally an inning later to take a comfortable lead.

Ramirez followed a walk and a single with a ground-rule double and Davis proceeded to plate another run with a two-base hit of his own. Weeks capped the uprising with a sacrifice fly and Parra added an RBI groundout in the seventh before providing the final margin with a two-run single in the ninth.

Ramirez finished a triple shy of his first cycle, marking the 28th time in his career he needed one hit to complete the feat. ... Lohse's victory was his first since July 23 against Cincinnati. ... Milwaukee was beginning a nine-game road trip, while San Diego started a 10-game homestand.
