Phillies 9, Brewers 1: Jimmy Rollins ended Matt Garza's no-hit bid to lead off the seventh inning before ripping a two-run single to ignite a seven-run eighth as visiting Philadelphia completed a four-game sweep of National League-leading Milwaukee.

Ryan Howard slapped a ground-rule RBI double in the lopsided inning and added a two-run homer in the ninth for the Phillies, who recorded their first four-game sweep since brushing aside Cincinnati in 2011. Cody Asche and Domonic Brown plated a pair with their respective hits in the eighth and rookie David Buchanan (5-5) picked up the win after allowing one run on four hits in seven innings.

Carlos Gomez led off the sixth with a homer for the Brewers, who have dropped a season-high five straight and nine of 10. Ryan Braun, Aramis Ramirez and Khris Davis each added a single in the loss.

Garza (6-6), who retired the first 13 batters he faced, allowed back-to-back singles by Rollins and Chase Utley to begin the seventh and yielded one more hit before exiting after 7 2/3 innings. Rollins began the onslaught and spoiled Will Smith's 25th birthday by lining a single to left off the reliever to score pinch-runner Ben Revere and Cesar Hernandez.

Smith's day got progressively worse as Howard plated Rollins with a shot down the left-field line before Asche and Brown broke open the game. In total, Smith yielded five runs on three hits and did not retire a batter in the inning.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Gomez gave Milwaukee a 1-0 lead in the sixth after depositing a 2-1 fastball from Buchanan over the wall in left-center field. The blast was the slugger's 14th of the season and first since June 28. ... Gomez kept Garza's no-hit bid alive earlier in the frame after surviving a collision with Braun while chasing down Philadelphia C Cameron Rupp's blast at the warning track. ... Milwaukee wraps up its first half by opening a three-game series versus visiting St. Louis on Friday while Philadelphia begins a three-game set against Washington.
