Pirates 11, Brewers 2:
Josh Harrison belted a pinch-hit go-ahead home run in the seventh as Pittsburgh came alive late and handed visiting Milwaukee its first road loss.

Pedro Alvarez highlighted a six-run eighth with a three-run homer, Andrew McCutchen hit a two-run shot and Gaby Sanchez had a solo blast as the Pirates picked up their second win in the last seven games. Edinson Volquez (1-0) allowed two runs on eight hits in seven innings and Pittsburgh exploded for nine runs in the seventh and eighth to put the game away.

Aramis Ramirez and Jonathan Lucroy (two hits) each drove in a run and Scooter Gennett recorded a pair of hits for the Brewers. Yovani Gallardo allowed two runs and three hits in six innings before right-hander Rob Wooten (0-1) yielded three runs while recording one out in relief to absorb the loss for Milwaukee.

The Brewers struck first when Carlos Gomez led off the game with a single, moved up on a sacrifice and scored on Ramirez’s single up the middle. The Pirates responded in the bottom of the frame when Starling Marte led off with a walk and stole second with one out before McCutchen drove a 2-2 fastball out to center for his first of the season.

Lucroy singled in the tying run in the third and both starters settled in until Gallardo was replaced by a pinch hitter in the seventh inning. Wooten came out of the bullpen in the bottom of the frame and allowed a leadoff single to Jordy Mercer before throwing five straight sliders to Harrison, the last of which ended up in the seats down the left-field line for a 4-2 lead and opened the floodgates.

GAME NOTEBOOK:
The Brewers dropped to 1-3 since their nine-game winning streak came to an end. … Marte went 2-for-4 with three runs scored and two stolen bases and has scored five runs in his last three starts. … Milwaukee LHP Wei-Chung Wang made his second career appearance and allowed all six runs in the eighth inning, including the home runs to Alvarez and Sanchez.
