Pirates 4, Brewers 2: Aramis Ramirez and Mark Reynolds homered as host Milwaukee pushed its winning streak to seven.

Wily Peralta (1-0) held Pittsburgh to two runs on four hits in seven innings for the Brewers, who are 8-2 and off to their best start since opening 1987 with 13 consecutive victories. Carlos Gomez added a run-scoring single as Milwaukee made the most of its six hits.

Francisco Liriano (0-2) allowed four runs on four hits with seven strikeouts for Pittsburgh. Neil Walker went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer and Andrew McCutchen stole two bases, but left the game in the eighth with discomfort in his left ankle.

Ramirez opened the scoring in the fourth with his first homer of the season, a two-run, two-out shot off a 1-2 Liriano offering. Reynolds hit his third of the season, a solo blast, with one out in the fifth and Gomez singled home Rickie Weeks later in the frame to push the Milwaukee advantage to 4-0.

Walker cut the lead in half on his second homer of the season with no outs in the seventh. Peralta retired the next three hitters, Jim Henderson pitched a scoreless eighth and Francisco Rodriguez earned his third save by striking out the side in the ninth.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Brewers have scored 46 runs during their winning streak. … Pittsburgh 3B Pedro Alvarez, who had homered five times in the previous six games, went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts. … Milwaukee is riding its longest winning streak since a nine-game run last April 14-23.
