Angels 7, Rangers 3: Erick Aybar belted a two-run homer while David Freese and Grant Green each had a two-run single as visiting Los Angeles secured its season-high eighth consecutive victory by completing a sweep of tumbling Texas.

Kole Calhoun added an RBI single and scored a run for the Angels, who have won 13 of 16 against their AL West rival and extended their lead to 10 games over second-place Oakland with only 16 remaining on their schedule. Mike Morin (4-3) tossed 1 1/3 scoreless innings to pick up the win as the Angels used eight pitchers to hand the reeling Rangers their 11th loss in 12 contests.

Leonys Martin homered to lead off the first inning and J.P. Arencibia belted a solo shot with two outs in the seventh. Rougned Odor added an RBI single in the eighth to close the scoring.

Aybar gave Los Angeles a 2-1 lead in the second inning after depositing an 0-1 fastball from Nick Martinez (3-11) into the seats in right field for his seventh homer. Freese tacked on two more runs in the third with a line-drive single to center to plate Calhoun and Mike Trout.

Robbie Ross replaced Martinez to begin the seventh and allowed a one-out single to Collin Cowgill. Ross' throwing error allowed Cowgill to advance to second and Calhoun's single to center brought him home to give the Angels a 5-1 lead.
