Marlins 6, Brewers 3: Casey McGehee snapped a tie with a two-run homer in the top of the ninth inning as visiting Miami handed Milwaukee its 13th loss in 14 games.

Giancarlo Stanton walked with two outs and scored as McGehee launched a 1-0 pitch from Francisco Rodriguez (4-5) over the center-field wall. Marcell Ozuna followed with a solo blast and went 3-for-3 with two RBIs to help give the win to Bryan Morris (8-1), who worked out of a bases-loaded, no-out jam in the eighth.

Donovan Solano added two hits and an RBI and Steve Cishek notched his 34th save in the ninth as Miami moved within 3 ½ games of the National League’s second wild card – and two behind Milwaukee. Aramis Ramirez went 3-for-4 with a pair of RBIs and Scooter Gennett had two hits and scored twice for the Brewers.

Miami’s Garrett Jones drilled an RBI double into the left-center field gap in the sixth, but Gennett doubled and scored on a Ramirez two-out single to tie it 3-3 in the seventh. The Brewers loaded the bases in the eighth on a Khris Davis single, a walk and an error, but Morris escaped by getting two fielder’s choices and a fly out.

Solano sliced an RBI single to right field to open the scoring in the third and Ozuna’s two-out base hit plated McGehee (two hits) later in the frame. The Brewers responded in their half of the inning on a run-scoring double by Ramirez into the right-field corner and an RBI groundout by Gerardo Parra.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Milwaukee RF Ryan Braun was held out of the starting lineup due to hand and thumb injuries before striking out as a pinch hitter in the seventh inning and walking in the ninth. … Marlins LF Christian Yelich went 2-for-5 to extend his hitting streak to 12 games and has recorded multiple hits in five of his last seven contests. … Miami starter Tom Koehler allowed two runs on six hits over five innings to extend his unbeaten streak to six while Milwaukee’s Matt Garza gave up two runs (one earned) on six hits and struck out seven over the first four innings.
