Marlins 4, Rangers 3 (10): Giancarlo Stanton knocked in the winning run in the 10th inning and Marcell Ozuna homered as host Miami claimed the opener of an abbreviated two-game series.

Christian Yelich went 3-for-5 and Jarrod Saltalamacchia added two hits and an RBI for the Marlins, who pulled within 2 1/2 games of Atlanta and San Francisco for the second wild card in the National League. Sam Dyson (2-0) struck out the side in a perfect 10th to earn the win.

Adrian Beltre and Rougned Odor each had two hits and scored a run for the last-place Rangers, who have lost five of six. Neal Cotts (2-7) was charged with an unearned run and tagged with the loss after first baseman Mike Carp's error left the door open for Stanton's game-winning single off closer Neftali Feliz.

Ozuna's 17th homer tied it in the fourth after Texas had opened the scoring on Robinson Chirinos' RBI groundout in the top of the inning. Rangers starter Miles Mikolas gave up three straight hits to start the sixth inning, including Saltalamacchia's go-ahead RBI single, and the Marlins pushed across another run on Adeiny Hechavarria's sacrifice fly against reliever Roman Mendez for a 3-1 lead.

Odor led off the seventh with a double off the wall in right, and Stanton slipped while trying to play the carom to allow Odor to come around to score. Daniel Robertson's bases-loaded walk tied it later in the inning, and that's where it stayed until Stanton served a single into right to score Jeff Baker with the winning run.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Marlins RHP Jarred Cosart allowed one run over six innings while Mikolas gave up three runs in five-plus frames. … Yelich extended his hitting streak to eight games and has recorded multiple hits in six of his past 10 contests. … Rangers RF Alex Rios was a late scratch with a bruised right thumb.
