Dodgers 4, Padres 0: Carl Crawford went 4-for-4 with two RBIs and a run scored while Dan Haren combined with two relievers on a four-hitter as Los Angeles claimed the rubber match of their three-game series against visiting San Diego.

Crawford recorded three doubles and a single while Haren (13-10) limited the Padres to four hits and a walk with five strikeouts in seven innings. Juan Uribe went 2-for-4 with an RBI and Justin Turner also notched a pair of hits for Los Angeles, which maintained its 2 1/2-game lead over second-place San Francisco in the National League West.

Crawford began the scoring in the second inning with an RBI double off Ian Kennedy (10-13), who yielded three runs and 10 hits over six frames to remain winless in six starts against the Dodgers this season. The Padres were held to one extra-base hit and lost the season series for the fourth consecutive year.

Turner singled to lead off the sixth and later scored on Hanley Ramirez’s single, and the Dodgers moved ahead 3-0 an inning later as Crawford ripped a leadoff double and Uribe followed with an RBI single. Crawford, who added a run-scoring double in the eighth, went 9-for-12 with four doubles and a homer during the series.

Haren lowered his ERA to 1.70 over his last seven starts for the Dodgers, who have won six of their last eight heading into this weekend's critical three-game series in San Francisco. San Diego was shut out for the third time in its last six contests and 19th overall.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Padres CF Will Venable left the game in the fifth inning with a back strain. … Los Angeles RF Matt Kemp singled in the second inning to extend his hitting streak to a season-high 16 games. … Crawford is the first Dodger to record three doubles in a game since Kemp accomplished the feat on Sept. 22, 2011 against the Giants. ... Los Angeles LHP J.P. Howell and RHP Kenley Jansen each tossed a scoreless inning to preserve the shutout.
