Dodgers 4, Nationals 1: Juan Uribe belted a two-run homer and Clayton Kershaw become baseball’s first 17-game winner as Los Angeles evened its three-game series against visiting Washington.

Kershaw (17-3) allowed one run on three hits while striking out eight over eight innings and Kenley Jansen struck out the side in the ninth for his 39th save. Adrian Gonzalez, Carl Crawford and A.J. Ellis had two hits apiece for the Dodgers, who remained two games ahead of San Francisco in the National League West.

Washington’s Doug Fister (12-6) lost his third consecutive start while yielding four runs (three earned) on 10 hits over five frames. Bryce Harper crushed a two-out solo homer deep into the right-field seats in the seventh for the Nationals, who maintained their seven-game lead over Atlanta in the NL East.

Gonzalez broke the scoreless tie in the fifth with an RBI single and Los Angeles pulled ahead 2-0 when Ian Desmond’s throwing error allowed Dee Gordon to score on the play. The Dodgers extended the lead in the sixth as Crawford hit a leadoff single and Uribe followed with his seventh home run.

Kershaw reached the 200-strikeout mark for the fifth straight season for Los Angeles, which outhit the Nationals 11-3. Fister has allowed five homers in his last three starts for Washington, which failed to generate any sustained offense outside of Harper’s 11th home run.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Washington 1B Adam LaRoche sat out the game due to lower back tightness and is listed as day-to-day. … Dodgers OF Joc Pederson recorded his first major league hit with a bloop single to center field in the second inning. … Kemp extended his hitting streak to 10 games for Los Angeles, which improved to 66-6 when leading after six innings.
