Mariners 5, Astros 2: Logan Morrison stroked a go-ahead two-run double as visiting Seattle rallied to sweep a three-game series from Houston.

Dustin Ackley had three hits and John Buck and Kyle Seager each had two hits and one RBI as the Mariners won their fourth straight contest and 13th in their 17. The Astros have lost 12 of 16 games and were outscored 28-8 in the series.

Chris Young (8-4) struck out a season-high eight and gave up two runs and two hits in seven innings to win his third straight decision. Houston’s Brad Peacock (2-5) took a shutout into the sixth inning before being charged with four runs and six hits in 5 1/3 innings.

Both Astros’ hits off Young were solo homers as Marwin Gonzalez placed one inside the right-field foul pole in the third and Enrique Hernandez smacked his first big-league homer in the fifth. Three relievers finished up with Fernando Rodney working a perfect ninth for his American League-leading 24th save as the Mariners moved a season-best nine games above .500.

Seattle’s first salvo in a four-run sixth came on Peacock’s bases-loaded wild pitch before Morrison put the Mariners ahead 3-2 with his two-bagger and Buck added a run-scoring single. Seager singled in a run in the seventh to make it a three-run margin.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Seager is 19-for-36 with 12 RBIs over the last nine games. … Houston activated RHP Anthony Bass (intercostal strain) off the disabled list and optioned LHP Kevin Chapman to Triple-A Oklahoma City. … Seattle RHP Felix Hernandez was named American League Pitcher of the Month after going 3-1 with a 1.22 ERA in six June starts.
