Rockies 10, Giants 9: Charlie Blackmon delivered a two-out RBI single in the bottom of the ninth inning as Colorado overcame a five-run deficit to snap San Francisco's six-game winning streak.
Michael McKenry began Colorado's ninth with a single against Sergio Romo (5-4) and was sacrificed to second by Josh Rutledge. Two batters later, Rafael Ynoa's third hit in his major-league debut - an infield single - moved McKenry to third to set the stage for Blackmon to record his first walk-off hit - a line drive down the right-field line.
Pinch-hitter Ben Paulsen's home run in the seventh inning - a two-run shot - gave Colorado a 9-7 lead before San Francisco rallied in the ninth against LaTroy Hawkins (3-2), who recorded the victory despite giving up two runs. Rutledge went 3-for-3 with two RBIs and three runs scored, DJ LeMahieu also drove in a pair and Corey Dickerson also scored three times for the Rockies, who trailed 7-2 entering the sixth inning before scoring four in the sixth and three in the seventh.
Hunter Pence hit his 19th homer - a three-run blast - to extend his hitting streak to 14 games while Brandon Crawford had three hits and three RBIs for the Giants, who trail Los Angeles by two games in the National League West and are three clear in the wild-card race. Buster Posey added three hits - including an RBI single in the ninth - and scored twice before pinch-runner Juan Perez advanced to second on a wild pitch and came home on Pablo Sandoval's base hit before an out was recorded.
Pence's homer came on a 1-1 pitch during a four-run first and Crawford's RBI double with two out in the fifth pushed the Giants' advantage to 7-2 before run-scoring singles by Rutledge and Ynoa highlighted Colorado's sixth inning. Rutledge made it 7-7 in the seventh with another RBI single and Paulsen - hitting .417 in 36 at-bats this season - followed by belting a 1-1 pitch out to right for his second career home run.
GAME NOTEBOOK: The Giants defeated the Rockies 4-2 earlier Monday in the completion of the May 22 suspended game as Pence - .393 with two home runs, 11 RBIs, 13 runs, three doubles and a triple during his hitting streak - broke a tie with an RBI double in the eighth inning. ... 2B Ynoa entered during a double switch in the fifth inning and recorded three singles - including an infield hit in his first at-bat in the fifth - while becoming the 500th player in Rockies history. ... San Francisco starter Tim Hudson allowed six runs (five earned) and seven hits in five innings, while the Rockies' Franklin Morales yielded seven runs and nine hits in 4 1/3 frames.
